Bought the JEACENT AC Window Air Conditioner Support Bracket in June 2025, and it’s still perfect. The bracket is thick, sturdy, and extremely functional, holding my AC securely with no wobble. Setup was easy instructions could be a bit more detailed, but YouTube videos for this model make it simple. Hardware is included, and ease of use is great once you know the steps. Value for money is excellent. How to use it: • Measure and mark your window • Drill with a 5/16-inch bit • Attach bracket with included hardware and level it • Place AC unit carefully • Double-check stability Highly recommend for anyone needing a reliable, durable AC support bracket.

Don't depend on the instructions to be easily understood. You can get a better idea of how to mount it just looking at the item itself. The biggest issue was that the brace was much smaller than the air-conditioner's "outer cabinet" which was about six inches too short to have any support to hold the unit. One needs to know that this brace may not support your air-conditioner if your unit is 15,000 BTU's or larger. After studying the contraption for any possible way to utilize it with the unit I was planning to use it with, I finally had to buy some sturdy aluminum channel which was four feet long and I cut it in half and I mounted two cross pieces across the bottom of the air-conditioner outer shell so that the mounting screws were recessed below the rails on the inside of the cabinet. The cabinet already had holes drillled every two inches so I mounted the channel so that the two cross braces would rest on the end of the brace at one point, then I mounted the other cross brace so it rested about six inches forward of the intersecting area where the horizontal surface met the attaching brace. Once I had the shell of the cabinet resting on the brace, I used self-tapping sheet metal screws to secure the air-conditioner cabinet shell to the brace. I used a masonry bit with a hammer drill to secure the brace to the window, however, since the exterior of the window had a sloping brick surface, I used some long brick masonry tapping screws to hold the end of the brace to the window. The point at which the brace crossed the outer point of the brick, I added a treated 2x4 which added one and one-half inches to the angle of the cabinet shell. The angle was still needing a few more degrees of height in order to have a 1/2 " to one-inch drop over the length of the cabinet's extension from the window. I added a 1/2-inch thick furring strip to the top edge of the 2x4 which actually shimmed the installation height to a perfect slope for the condensate to drain. The air-conditioner also had two triangular brackets which appeared to be very impractical with respect to bracing the cabinet against the brick so I discarded those brackets because my final installation was so strong, it appeared to have a much greater ability to support as much as 400 lbs. or more. I tested the brace with the method which I installed it and I'm confident that it would hold three times the weight it was designed for. Please refer to my review of the universal rubber block elsewhere in my reviews above if you have any doubt that your brace might have a tendency to "slip" once it is installed. I mounted the thick rubber block immediately below the point at which the brace was resting against the wall. I am happy that I ordered the rubber mount as a "back-up" device when I ordered the brace because prior to mounting the rubber block, the brace had such a small footprint area where it met the wall causing me to not trust the device without adding the rubber block. I spent about five minutes applying pressure to the brace before adding the rubber block and the brace failed to hold safely. Be aware that if you are concerned about making your installation "accident-free" over the course of five to ten years in advance, you can easily add the universal rubber block to any type wall and the one-inch thickness will ensure that the brace will always have an extra "helping-hand" to hold it safely against the wall. Just search on Amazon for the following: (SE JT34446RB Rubber Bench Block, 6" x 4" x 3/4", Black); Just drill a couple of holes through it and mount it with some stainless screws for the particular surface you have where the brace rests against the wall. For brick veneer, I used the standard blue masonry tapper screws that were 1 - 1/2" longer than the thickness of the rubber block. Due to the fact that my installation met several stumbling blocks due to the brace being so short, I thought I would provide the details here so that no matter what size air-conditioner you will be using with this brace, you can also have the utmost level of confidence in knowing that your installation can be extremely safe if you utilize the combination of materials that I have described here. Most of all, I am very happy to know that Amazon provides quality materials and enables me to enjoy all of my purchases. My feedback score without the use of the universal rubber block would be much lower because I was not convinced that the brace would hold the unit that I needed due to the shorter arm it has to support the medium-sized window units. It might work great for a small 5,000 BTU unit but before you do a rush installation hoping to leave "chance" to last for more than a day or two, be sure to "think ahead" and imagine how the brace might slip if the surface where it meets the wall gets wet, possibly causing the arm to slide with so much weight on it. For anyone who can read this far into my review and who can appreciate the concept of guaranteeing safety, I hope the review can be utilized to teach thousands of others who want to ensure the best method possible by investing only a few more dollars.
