Really great book, have started the practices
Really great book, have started the practices. Like many of stuart's books, it is something that should be read and studied over and over. I like that he shows the classics with the chinese characters and offers commentary, and advice based on his own experience. In this book you will find the seasonal excercises to tonify the meridians. As he says this is a companion book to "refining the elixer". The practices in this book are to be mastered before the actual internal alchemy can be started. A year minimum of doing this is necessary - although he mentions for some people it can take a few years depending on how persistent you are and your current level of health. I do wish there were better illustrations and more detail in some parts as some of the excercises are confusing and it's difficult to decipher them correctly from a book. This is why its important to have a live teacher correcting your mistakes and guiding you step by step. But for those of us not lucky enough to live near one the best we can do is reference with other materials. It is a good idea to check online when massaging the meridian points - there is much more specefic information on how to find the exact points in my opinion.
