A good trim saw for the money
I already own a Ryobi P501 circular saw and was interested in purchasing a second one so I can have two circular saws for cutting different woods. My original Ryobi has 24 tooth blade which is good for ripping. My current Ryobi was fitted with a 100 tooth plywood saw blade. Now I do not have to swap blades out when cutting various woods. For those people complaining the battery does last long, this is a trim saw, not a contractor saw. It is mean for small cuts and runs and nothing else. With a fully charged battery I was able to rip the length of 3/4" plywood sheet (8'). It did not have enough power for a second cut.The solution is to use corded circular saws for big cutting jobs or have some spare batteries. I currently have 4 spare batteries for this saw.Once you understand its capabilities and limits, this is very good saw.

Ryobi The Great.
Ryobi circular sawI love this saw. I took it to work, and it worked great. It cut 2X4 with easy. I also cut plywood with easy. This saw has power, punch and you can easily control it. Ryobi's 5-1/2" 18volt circular saw is a great buy. It has a place on it to store the wrench for quick blade changes. It has a cutting depth at 0° 1-9/16" that's deep enough to cut thru 2x4s. The bevel adjustment knob lets you make bevel cuts from 45° to 90°. You can make straight cross cuts and rip with the scale on the front of the tool. It's also battery powered. It have all the right safety features. This is a great tool to have.

you get what you pay for...
The small saw is as described. It is OK for small projects...very small projects. If you plan to cut more than two sheets of plywood, this is not the saw for you. However, if you are cutting very thin wood and need a cordless saw, then you may have found the right one. There is ZERO comparison in power to a corded saw.

Does Not Include Saw Blade
The saw itself is fine. The picture is highly misleading. It shows a saw blade while the saw itself does not come with a blade, requiring an additional purpose.Amazing that they got the picture right by not including a battery, but still took a picture that includes the blade. I just wish these vendors would be honest.

Doesn't Cut Worth a Hoot
I have two of these saws (they came in the multi-pack tool kits, which I buy for the batteries and drills mostly) and they are just plain junk in my opinion. They will saw a little for a few minutes but they bog down very easily and they don't last long (run time). This is one of those products that sounds better than it really is.

Pay no mind to the negative reviews
Many years ago I bought the 4 piece Ryobi One kit with NiCad batteries as a temporary solution until I could justify spending more on a contractor brand like Milwaukee, Makita or Dewalt. Truth be told the tools shocked the heck out of me as far as durability goes and have far outlasted and outperformed any expectations I had going in. I've built dozens of decks, sheds and countless other remodel jobs with these tools. I've abused them in every way possible and used them in ways they were never intended to be used. These are homeowner grade tools and I used them as if they were contractor grade tools. Well after many years of abuse the circular saw finally gave up it's ghost, making a heck of a racket yet still runs. I bought this replacement saw for next to nothing and if it lasts half as long it would still be a good deal. The ryobi NiCad batteries are serviceable but do have limitations as evidenced when I pushed them too hard which resulted in a loud pop and smoke coming from the abused NiCad battery, tool survived battery not so much. I have since upgraded to the Lithium batteries but still have some NiCad in the mix. This is considered a trim saw but over the years I found myself grabbing this over my trusted Skill HD77 worm-drive out of convenience and weight. Does this compare with the power of my worm drive? Not even close but it is far from being as under powered as a couple reviewers have made out. Those negative reviewers have to be using old used up batteries long past their usable life. Also battery life will depend on the battery "Ah" Ryobi sells Lithium batteries from 1.5 Ah all the way up to 4 Ah, the ni-cad's are 1.5 Ah.

Great tool Great price!
I sawed through a nail with my last cordless saw and it became damaged so I purchased the exact same one. It arrive quickly and performed well. The only difference from my last saw is that the new saw is green instead of blues as Ryobi changed the color design on their power tools.

Decent for the money
Overall this is a decent saw. It runs through batteries so buy a couple extra & a charger. One huge drawback to this saw, for me, is that it will barely cut through a 2x4 because of the size of the blade and the battery will not last long when cutting 3/4 inch plywood. Also, be sure to have a saw horse or something to cut on and you will get a lot better results.
