Laurence King Match a Mummy: The Ancient Egypt Memory Game

My 5yr old is obsessed w/dinosaurs. We homeschool & are currently studying his favorite subject of paleontology so I bought this game as a fun “break” during lessons. The dinosaurs do have an artsy look to them but you can absolutely distinguish the difference between dinosaurs, at least my 5 year old can. Not to mention the solid background color of the card will tell you if you have a match or not if you felt unsure. If your kid is younger like mine you may choose to do something like putting out only 16 cards (8 pairs) or less at a time & increase that number as they start to build that muscle memory. My kids have been gifted multiple memory match games over the years & I’ve tossed them all. This is the first one I’ve enjoyed doing with them. The little booklet with dinosaur facts gives you the opportunity to teach your kid about the dinosaur pair they’ve matched. Great game, great price. Will absolutely buy more from this series.

Laid these out for my daughter to introduce her to paleontology. She figured it out fairly quickly. Like most games, more fun when you play together:) Super hardy cards. This game will last forever!

Beautifully illustrated with nice informative booklet.

Some reviews complained that these are too challenging, but I think that’s what makes them special. My kids were immediately drawn to them and spent lots of time flipping through the guide book. (The guide is well-designed!) Will we use this item every day of their childhoods? No. But it was a great resource for homeschool game play, and I was impressed with how detailed the illustrations are! For context, we played this with kids spanning ages 4-9. Good for inquisitive kids of any age.

Bought this for Dino Week in the classroom and glad I did. It is much more difficult than typical memory/matching games. It was a great challenge for the kids ages 6-9; I have found it to be challenging and engaging. Highly recommend for your dino lover.

Much harder than a regular matching game.

A great game to learn more about dinosaurs. The pictures are great and my Dino loving kid loves it. Very sturdy cards that will last. Also comes with a book telling you about each Dino!

It looks like a memory game but it is not. Still trying to figure it out.
