90-95% coverage of actual test
- First off I'll say that this book is well written and provides a lot of good information just like the actual SANS books. I appreciate that he only goes over what is covered in the exam without extra fluff of what you should already know about Linux/Windows.- Do the books prepare you for the exam? I'd say they cover 90-95% of the questions on the exam. I had the 2015 SANS books as a backup reference, but I felt like I used this book 95-98% of all the questions on the two practice exams and actual exam. With that said I was able to get 91% and 93% on the practice exams minimally referencing SANS books and 94% on actual exam. I felt like only referenced SANS books for about 5'ish questions on the practice exams and maybe a little more on actual exam (though I can't remember exactly. I had no index for the SANS books or this book for the practice exam and for the final I grabbed an index someone else made that was at most +/- 20 pages off on each term in the index.- Can you use only this book for the exam? I'd say grab this book, read it, take a practice exam and if you score about 84% you'll pass the exam for sure because again there are a limited amount of questions that really require having the minute details that are only in the SANS books. I'd say I would have gotten 85-90% without my SANS books as reference.- How accurate is the practice exam to the real exam? I got 91% and 93% on practice and 94% on final. I'd say it's very accurate.

Great supplement for official material
When taking the GCIH I wouldn’t depend on this book or the practice quizzes this book provides solely on their own. However when used along with the official material, two practice exams, listening to the course audio while doing other things, building an index and the like, this book becomes invaluable. The testing itself is not bad. There are some off by one errors, so make sure to look at the explanation of each question if you get a wrong answer. The nice thing is you can take unlimited tests and focus on areas you need help with. The content of the book is well laid out and easy to follow.Overall if you are already invested in the course and the certification, this book does help. It’s worth spending your money and time on it.

No longer current
I was able to pass the exam using only this book and a practice test that I got from SANS. However, there is a lot of cloud stuff that is new since publication, and I don’t think I would have passed if I didn’t have the practice test beforehand.

Very good book
This is a hands-on book for cybersecurity students. It's really all in ONE, perfect, relevant, most accurate.....absolutely love it!!

Great Real World Sanity Check
I was not concerned with the exam so much as to the point clarity on specific issues. It is here. Now I am thinking I may go ahead and add this cert to my resume.

Get it and pass
Could not have passed the test without this book. Used this as primary study material with SANS books as backup. Between the two was able to pass the test on first attempt. Highly recommended.

Giant Cyber MAN Page
This is some sort of giant and well written man page, nothing else.Is it relevant to the exam ? Up to a minuscule degree, but not like others saying here in reviews. If you like to get an idea of, let's say, what XSS is then this could be your desk side reference book, that's all. If you want to practice and hone your skills of XSS exploitation, this is not the route you should be taking. This book will not prepare you to exam. I recently passed my exam and I took SEC 504 from SANS. Course manuals are the only material I studied and found them %100 applicable to certification.

Not great
Needed the book for a class, then was hoping that I'd be better prepared for the SANS test... ya, not even remotely.
