Very good thing

Solid addition for a prepper.
I like how solid this feels and the highly polished finish on the housing. This would be a great addition to an edc bag for signaling or starting a fire and of course magnification. Just needs a protective case.

Good Value
Excellent and powerful little eye loop for the money. Only had to tighten the pivoting screws so it was not sloppy when opening and closing. Good value.

Good materials, a little tricky to use, does the job
First off, I don't think the advertised 20x magnification is accurate. You might be able to get that level of magnification at the furthest distance you can bring the lens before the image flips upside down, but it's quite blurry at that distance. I'd estimate it's closer to 5x magnification at a distance where the image is clear, though I haven't broken out a ruler, and I may even be estimating a bit high. You have to be somewhat precise about where you hold the lens, because the edges are fairly distorted and if you're not at the correct focal distance, there's some chromatic aberration. That said, the lens is large, which means you don't have to move the lens as much to read a section of text, so it could be worse. Distortion and chromatic aberration are also to be expected from thick/high magnification lenses in general, so it's not a problem specific to this lens. I like the material choices for the most part. It's a metal frame with a glass lens. I try to avoid plastic where possible, because it usually reduces the longevity of an item while also shedding microplastics. It has a felt backing I didn't notice in the listing, though looking again, it's shown in one of the pictures. I'm not sure whether the felt is wool or synthetic. I'd guess the latter based on texture and luster. Overall, it's portable (though, as with anything made of glass, you'd need to take some care), feels nice (except for the felt), and does the job. I wish it didn't have the felt because I don't like the texture or the fact it's probably plastic. I'm considering trying to remove it, though the lens casing will never look or feel as nice as it could have if it had been designed and manufactured without the felt. I had a hard time choosing between 3 and 4 stars, and ultimately what tipped the scale was the fact that the advertised magnification is wrong. It's usable with this magnification, but I dislike false advertising, and some people may need a higher magnification level.

Well made, practical
This appears to be well made and durable. I can see why others say it is big and heavy, but I think it is a practical field magnifying glass. My first use was to look at budding catkins on a dioecious shrub and figure out male or female. I found the magnification to be very suitable for this.

idk about 20x but is a good hefty magifier w a larger then most 'viewable focal picture'
I cant test magnification but it does pretty close to the 15-20x magnifications ive seen. Its a larger puck of a magnifying glass so the detailable picture size is fairly large compared to others. Have even used this in conjunction to another magnifier and used to take pictures with a phone to get more detail/ease in a closer shot free handed. . Primary reason for obtaining Investigating rocks/stones/specimens and pans for gold panning ect.

Poor product - weak magnification
I got this for my father. When I looked at it I realize it was weaker magnification and inferior quality of the glass than I would’ve expected. My dad finds it useless also. He’s an retired engineer and he knows how to calculate magnification based on focal length. And he said it is not as billed.

This is a review for IPENNY Mini 20X Folding Pocket Magnifier with Metal Protective Case, Portable Reading Magnifying Glass. It's heavy for a pocket magnifier, but I could live with that as the protective case is very nice. The problem is that the magnification is not 20x (although it is quite good) and there's a huge amount of distortion around the edges of the glass so that only the very centre of the 60mm lens works well. I wouldn't recommend this, or buy it again. Definitely not worth the price.

Great. I don't know why everything is in small printer..... especially useful on packet foods, instructions generally.

I have replaced this exact same model which I'd had for years. Fits in my pocket nicely and although this one is harder to slide open I am sure it will loosen over time. For me, a great purchase. A+++
