This works
Once adjusted, it just worked. Positively & reliably. There is some "magic" in this design. Can't tell how it works. It looks like there is nothing wrong with the old one, but that one didn't work properly

Installing this flush cartridge is really pretty simple, trust me.
Yeah, the fancy toilet was in the house when we bought it 17 years ago and just recently I realized something had started leaking causing it to refill a couple times an hour. I was intimidated by the gear in the tank at first but watched a few videos and bought this flush valve cartridge. Installation was pretty simple and no more leaks. Now I'm seriously considering upgrading the head in the other bathroom.

Did the job, toilet fixed
Ordered this hoping it would fix my flushmate pressure assisted toilet that suddenly stopped flushing. This worked great! Only issue I had was the screw used to tighten the actuator black cap didn't quite fit in the plastic screw hole. Otherwise, problem solved! Flushes better than before.

I have a great plumber but I can't call and spend $ on ...
I have a great plumber but I can't call and spend $ on everything that goes wrong in my old house. So when I can, I try to jump in and fix a problem. Such a case was when my Gerber air flush toilet (with a Sloan Flushmate 503 in the tank) suddenly stopped flushing and would not stop running unless I turned off the water supply. With a quick online search and a look in the tank, I figured out that the actuator stem had snapped - not salvageable and not anything you can rig up. It was a life saver to have this actuator replacement kit available from the manufacturer for order on Amazon with express delivery. (Surprisingly, my local big box hardware stores only offer this online. If I'm going that route, I'll use Amazon.) The part came on time and contained all replacement parts that might wear out - the actuator, an inlet filter, and duck bill valve. In short order, thanks to the clear instructions and easy to install pieces, I had everything replaced and my toilet was working perfectly again. I'm going to order another kit to have on hand. I strongly recommend that anyone with a Sloan Flushmate do the same - it's a small investment and easy to store kit.

Works like a charm
I accidentally bough a knock off Sloan Flushmate which never really worked and died within a week. This item threaded in easily, and the whole installation was a breeze. I did the Sloan Flushmate recall at the same time. (It adds a pressure regulator to keep the tank from exploding. Something that's probably worth doing.) This new cartridge flushes with the lightest of touches. It is a breeze to flush now. I did buy the plastic Sloan Flushmate install tool. It is so worth the $10 or so, even if it is a one time use. The tool fits in a corner of the toilet tank, which seems to be a great place to store it for whenever this cartridge needs replacing. The original cartridge lasted over fifteen years, so I am sure that I won't find the tool in fifteen years, if I don't hide it in the tank.

Easy to Install Flushmate Flush Valve replacement
We have 3 bathrooms in our house that use the Flushmate Flush Valve. The last time we ended up replacing one, we called the plumber and ended up with $250 bill that included labor and the part. So this time when one started to go out, I started researching and watching you tube videos online. At first, it was a little intimidating, but for the huge savings, I was willing to try. We ordered the part, and it came well packaged with the instructions clear on the packaging. For additional information, I would play/pause an instructional video we found online from the company. Suprisingly, It ended up being very easy to replace and probably took about 20-30 minutes (but that was with us (my husband and I) watching the video as we were doing the installation). We have had the new part in for almost 2 months and have had no issues with the product. I am so glad that we tried it and saved tons of money.

Pay attention to the instructions and you will be fine
I noticed that my power flush toilet wasn't flushing and when I opened it up, I could clearly see that the piece holding the handle up was actually broken in the center. Ordered this from Amazon before i found out that my FlushMate was actually recalled some time ago and the people who owned the home before me never looked at it. Replaced this when it came in and all is good. Follow the instructions, this is not rocket science. Force the flush by hand by depressing the center piece of the installed filter. Mine was so broken that there was no pressure anyway. Take a medium size crescent wrench just like they say and unscrew it. It will be tough to get out, or at least mine was. Felt like there was a ton of pressure on but it was really only some gummy threads. Put the new one in. When you follow the instructions like I am sure you will, they will tell you to screw it in until a specific point. This is "some number of threads still showing on top" type of things. Flush and make sure that the tank pressurizes. If not, 1/4 turn in and try again. When the tank pressurizes, you win. Take note that my Flushmate recall never came at all. Flushmate took the serial number and swore that i should: 1. Not use this toilet as it is extremely dangerous until the rebuild kit comes in! 2. Get a trained plumber to do this as the tank can be pressurized and hurt someone. This is a problem and if you are unable to flush or the center piece is still up showing pressure, make sure you are safe. If i waited for Flushmate to do their thing, I would never get to use my master bathroom again. Good luck.
