I love this knife
I've used cheap $2 Chinese knives like this for years, they can only be sharpened a few times before they no longer will hold a sharp edge so I would go buy another cheap replacement. Decided to buy a far better blade so I wouldn't have to keep buying new knives. This Caddie Vegetable Knife is perfect, well balanced, feels good in my hand. I spent about 3 hours yesterday afternoon chopping and slicing up a variety of vegetables and this knife made it effortless. I don't own a regular "chef's" knife since I don't find them useful for my purposes. I do slice and dice a lot of vegetables so this knife works great for me. I haven't had to sharpen it yet since it's so new but I think the blade is well made enough to be sharpen-able. No more Chinese rip-offs.

Most Excellent Kitchen Knife!
A Caddie 6" stainless steel knife has been my favorite kitchen knife since 1985. It has a sturdy, balanced feel in the hand. The blade is wide, yet thin enough to make slicing quick and easy. Once slicing is done, slide the wide blade under the chopped stuff and let the knife help put it in the pan. I use it for cutting vegetables, fruit, fish, chicken, etc. (Don't have a kow-- of course I wash the knife when switching from veggie to meat, or from garlic to apple.)My old Caddie knife Is still in excellent shape after almost 30 years of everyday use. The handle has a few scratches, but is attached as solidly as when It was new. I use a honing rod to keep the blade sharp. I will confess I have used my Caddie occasionally as a pancake turner and have even used the blunt end of the blade to scrape the bottom of a crusty pan. Like I said, it's a versatile tool!I wash the Caddie by hand most of the time and rarely put it in the dish washer. One drawback of the Caddie is that it does not have a sharp point.

Excellent knife and a great value.
I bought one of these knives in 1977 and I'm still using it. It's easy to sharpen by dragging the blade across the bottom surface of an earthenware cup. It's a good size for cutting many vegetables and versatile enough so that you can peel an apple with it. The knife has a comfortable wooden handle. The only complaint I have is that occasionally sliced vegetables adhere to the surface, requiring you to pause and remove them, but otherwise, this is lightweight, comfortable and easy to use. It does a great job for the price.

Essential knife!
I've had my two Caddie knives for 31 years. They've been in continuous use for more than three decades. I have more expensive knives, but none better! They have a great feel in my hand, and I love the wooden handles. I've had them sharpened dozens of times. You'll see that the wood is a bit weathered - I've let them sit in water too many times. Despite that, they're still going strong and I expect to have them forever. I think the cost has gone up about ten dollars since I bought mine in the 80s.

I think it's love...
I adore this knife. I don't need another. It fits so well in my hand. It's a traditional knife for vegetables and it's perfect for fruits and veggies. I can pare, do a rocking dice, cleave into a tough Hokaido squash, and easily crush garlic. I give it as presents as people tend to steal mine. I've had Caddie knives since the 1980s. They last and they're just lovely.
