My new main! Top tier shape, weight, features and materials. Inconsisten M1 and M2
UPDATE 4/26/2021: So this is a bit of a saga. I got so frustrated with M1 and M2 buttons and their weird feel, I returned my open box Burst Pro. About a week later I was at Microcenter and they had a Burst Pro on display. I picked it up on a whim and clicked the buttons. I noticed that the right click on the display mouse was light and crisp, almost like a Razer Viper, but slightly more hollow. The left click felt like I originally described; stiff, hollow, and dull. So that got me thinking, maybe they revised the clicks on later models? I still didn't want to pay full price though for something that seemed like I was going to be potentially disappointing. So I ordered a second open box Burst Pro from Amazon for $30. This one was listed as 'acceptable', but it was like new, just the box was beat up. In any case, I think I got lucky. The M1 and M2 on the second open box mouse were worlds better than the first mouse. They felt like the right click on the display version of the Burst Pro at Microcenter. So this leaves me with some questions. Are these mice really inconsistent during production to the point that M1 and M2 can be so vastly different from mouse to mouse? Or is this a revised version? I don't know. I know that the Viper went through some updates over time to improve their main clicks. Roccat could be doing the same thing, or they could just have really poor QC during manufacturing. Considering how solid the rest of the mouse is, I have a hard time believing it is a QC issue. In any case, this is my new main. The issue I had with it is resolved on this copy, and I love it. I went ahead and bumped it up to 5 stars. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This review is almost painful to type out. I want to love this mouse so bad. It could easily be my main, but it's let down by the mouse 1 and 2 buttons. Let me get to the good parts first. Pros: -Lightweight, this is huge! It's a midsize mouse, but it's soooo light -Great shape, it seems pretty safe for most grips. I fingertip most of the time, and it works great that way. My handsize is 19 cm x 10.8 cm. It's very comfy for longer play sessions. -Great cable! It's not a paracord, but it works really well. I don't feel the need for a bungee. -Good side buttons. Very snappy and responsive. They are also easy to hit. One of my main complaints with the Viper and Model O are the side buttons being either too recessed or too far forward. The Burst Pro gets it right. -Good materials. This is a sturdy mouse, despite its weight. Also, the materials feel really good, even when you get a little sweaty. -Amazing skates !!! This things slides around so good. You will not need to upgrade skates on this mouse at all. It also comes with a spare set in case you wear yours out or have to take off the originals for some reason. -Good scroll wheel. The scroll feel is slightly inconsistent, but its pretty good. Clicking is great. Cons: -M1 and M2 buttons. This is about the only thing wrong with this mouse, but its egregious. The buttons lack feedback, take a lot of pressure to depress, and feel hollow somehow. It is nice that they are optical so they will never double click. And they do not have any pre/post travel, which is great too. But they feel bad to press. This mouse needs a revision with new M1 and M2s, closer to the new Razer opticals at a minimum. -Not available in wireless. This mouse begs to be wireless. It's so good, and wireless would make it even better. If they could maintain the same weight, so much the better. I picked this mouse up for about $30 open-box, so I am not complaining too much. It just sucks that the M1 and M2 are so bad. It ruins an otherwise great mouse. Hopefully we see a Burst Pro V2 or a Burst Pro Wireless in the future with better clicks.

Great mouse, awful clicking sound
I have not run into any issues other reviewers are talking about after having this for almost a year (11 months). I will admit I bought my white Burst Pro used for $30 (and it was basically brand new) to replace a Roccat Kain 122 that developed scroll wheel issues after less than a year so I was hesitant in getting it. The side buttons are nice, the material of the mouse feels nice, the stock cable and skates are completely fine for general use and gaming (anyone that complains about either of those things is being hyper-nitpicky for no real reason), and the weight feels good. The 1 drawback that I knew of going into getting this mouse is the sound of the clicks. It's awful. It's no exaggeration--it's really bad. It sucks that it sounds as bad as it does but fortunately it doesn't affect the functionality of the mouse, the clicks otherwise are perfectly fine. The scroll wheel has thankfully lasted and doesn't seem to be losing any functionality on top of feeling solid. I use a hybrid fingertip/palm grip as I have long fingers for anyone that's curious. The software has a lot to take in for first time users but it's not not user friendly and has plenty of options to work with. I have no complaints about the software whatsoever. So in short-- Good: Weight Material & Build Quality Software Buttons Stock Skates & Cable Scroll Wheel Meh: M1 & M2 clicking sound Bad: So far, nothing Roccat has had QC issues with their mice and the scroll wheel in particular but with almost a year in I have no complaints and have to say this mouse deserves 5 stars.

The Perfect Mouse
EDIT: Amending to 5 stars. It seems the latest firmware update via the Roccat swarm app resolved my short battery life issues!! This is now the perfect mouse. I love everything about the Roccat Burst. Perfect size, perfect feel, great lighting, excellent precision, top build quality, good software and support. I was hoping since the burst air was exactly the same in terms of size and function and only adding the wireless functionality it would be the perfect mouse. Well, it nearly was but unfortunately the battery life is just not up to snuff. My last mouse was a Razer Mamba wireless and I might have have to charge it like once every couple of weeks while playing every day. This Burst Pro Air needs to be charged basically every night after a gaming session or it will die the next day. I am mostly just leaving it plugged in and using it as a wired mouse at this point. Thankfully, the provided cord is an excellent lightweight cord but such poor battery life really defeats the purpose of a wireless mouse. It's really a tragedy. I guess there really is no such thing as the perfect mouse. Once again I highly recommend this mouse but if your gaming setup is stationary just save a few bucks and go with the wired version IMHO.

First impressions, could improve, but very happy with it
Got it to replace my SteelSeries Aerox 5 wireless after such an obnoxious process just to get a warranty replacement(there's a lot of hoops to jump through). This having a 2 year warranty and hopefully much better RMA process if I have to use it puts me more at ease. It is a heavier mouse, but that was expected from the advertised weight, and I'll admit I was surprised at how noticeable it was for ~10g difference if memory serves. That said I don't think it's something to really make a fuss over. The build quality feels solid, though there is some creaking if you press down on the palm area where it says "Roccat". The finish on the right and left click attracts a fair amount of oil from your fingers, it reminds me of brushed metal finishes and I find myself wiping it off every so often...something I've not found myself doing much with mice in the past. The scroll wheel was what sold me(after my Aerox's going bad in 6-8 months), I knew Roccat had been known for their scroll wheels for many years and used to even advertise them a lot more as a feature. For a new mouse I was choosing between the Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2 and something from Roccat, the superlight's scroll wheel felt fairly light on the notches when trying them out in store, although it was hard to compare for actual use when there was no PC to use it with and pull some of the excessive focus on the feel away. The only negative about this scroll wheel was that at first it started to feel too heavy for scrolling a lot, but may have broken in some since. It also has a DPI button which the superlight is missing, something I rarely use, but I still want it for those moments that I do. And finally on top of all of that, it's 1/3rd the price. As I haven't had it terribly long yet I haven't been able to test the battery too much, but so far I've had a lot of luck making it last. Most days I'm at my PC for around 12hrs(not enough reviewers measure this in hours per day, just days which could be 4hrs per) give or take, and my current charge has only dropped maybe 10-20% per day which blows the Aerox out of the water. To achieve this I have set a profile that runs at 250Hz poling rate which I run on bluetooth, which also isn't noticeably bad, where as the Aerox's bluetooth had some horrible lag/stutter. This all said first charge was at 70% and didn't last long, however it's hard to know where the battery is at because it is only measured in 10% increments. I also ran that at 1000Hz on 2.4GHz most of the time, and now only use that profile for gaming. I also turned the lighting pretty much all the way down, turning it off of course would make battery life even better I'm sure. Most other aspects of it are solid, the mouse clicks feel good, as reviewers have said its optical switches have a deeper click sound, but nothing to fuss about. The sensor seems fine, but I think you'd have to screw up pretty bad to put a bad sensor in a gaming mouse. The mouse skates(feet) seem decent, some reviewers seemed to praise them a lot, I've never been one to care as long as they glide nicely which almost all gaming mice have for ages now...and honestly I don't think these have any crazy noticeable improvement from others. The lighting is great, and I think the choice to cover the hexagon pattern only makes it look even better, it makes the light feel like it's following you. It also keeps you from getting a mouse that is filled with dust and dirt on the inside where it's tough to clean, something that seems to be ignored on these hole sporting mice.

Solid mouse
So far the mouse has been wonderful and has lived up to the quality I have come to expect from ROCCAT. I cannot at the moment give an in depth review because I have just received the mouse today. However I would say that I am really enjoying the Titan Click of the mouse, the weight, the sensor tracking, and the new heat treated mouse skates. For the time being here are some comparison photos, I will return with a more in depth review of how it holds up. **UPDATE** 11/24 After a week of extensive use I've really come to enjoy using the Burst Pro as an FPS mouse. One of the things that really make the mouse attractive is not only the weight but the size as well, they seem to have found a "happy medium" for small up to large hands. I also like the mouse skates as I've stated before the mouse glides like butter and the cable offers little in the way of resistance or drag while using a cable bungee. ROCCAT was also nice enough to include an extra set of skates which is a nice touch. The side buttons are positioned properly for easy access and are about what you'd expect while pressing them. The one thing that I did not find attractive was the scroll wheel click, I felt it was a tad difficult to press because I often press it in rapid succession trying to ping enemies or locations and found that sometimes I had to use more force than normal to get it to register a click. Overall though I'd say the mouse is very solid. ROCCAT did an outstanding job entering into the ultralight weight mouse game with this one, and honestly I wouldn't be surprised at all to see a wireless version in 2021. 4.5/5 Pros: -Size -Weight -Sensor -Titan click -Mouse skates -Swarm software Cons: -Scroll wheel click

Fantastic mouse, unbeatable value!
So I'm an old gamer, and I think the microsoft wheel mouse optical was 100% the best OG gaming mouse bar none. It was light, tracked well for fast movement, and most importantly had the best shape. Can't use it any more because windows f'ed up it's ability to use 500hz (or anything over 125hz) thus making it choppy and unplayable. This Roccat is designed to almost the exact same specs as the wheel mouse optical. It's light, perfectly shaped for a relaxed claw grip, sensor in an ideal position for precision. But also, with awesome add ons! The feet are pretty slick and feel good with minimal friction. The software is actually really nice in letting you adjust sensor height cutoff (I have a bad habit of lifting the back of the mouse off ever so slightly so I adjust it higher), and INDEPENDENT X AND Y AXIS DPI ADJUSTMENT! What can I say other than 10/10. It's got a reputation for great build quality (unlike the mira m and HK gaming which die after a couple months use), perfect shape, good light weight, good sensor and buttons. S Tier!

Great Mouse
Best mouse so far. Although the shape isn't the best one for me but the mouse itself rocks. Best scates / glides. Its effortless. Lights are great. I got the black one & it looks good. Switches are light/medium press. They are just different not bad at all. Good for gaming. If switches had a slight dent, that would make it even better but flat switch shape is just ok. Slightly protruding outwards so not fully flat either. Not a big issue if the shape works for u. So far I have tried: Logitech g pro wireless- good, slightly better overall. Not as good as the acer predator cestus 350 shape. For fps games. g703- lighter switches, bad shape, ring finger slips when quickly moving in fps. Ok glides. razor viper mini - too small, good glides & switches. May be good for claw grip. Too light. Good for kids. Viper ultimate- good, same switches as mini i think, not a good grip for finger tip or palm grip.. too much gap between middle & ring finger when holding it. Ok glides. Mamba- bad shape, same switches, rubber on the side makes it difficult for quick action. Slips out of hand. Shape isnt the best fit for me but i might keep it. Best shape for me is the aukey ($30) & Acer predator cestus 350($120) or ajaaz i350 pro. They are the same shape. Best shape i think. Good for long hands. Hand sits comfortably. & aiming works good in all directions bcuz of the symmetrical shape..Same for this mouse.

Barely used, multiple defects that greatly affect the functionality of the mouse.
I play a lot of games, I use a lot of mice. I also do a lot of programming. I'm on a computer for 12+ hours daily. I bought this mouse, used it for a bit, and swapped to a $20 Viper Mini. I liked the Burst Pro, it had great feet, and a nice shape for my larger hands. The clicks were heavy, but I didn't mind it. That just told me they wouldn't become soft/mushy over time. I liked the mouse overall, but was really into FPS gaming at the time. I wanted something lighter so I switched to the Viper Mini. I used that mouse for a really long time, loved it, but it was honestly too small for my hands. If I had a slightly larger Viper it would've been perfect. Eventually the grip tape I had on my Viper wore out, so instead of ordering a new grips or using it without, I swapped back to the Burst Pro. I shortly discovered that clicking the scroll wheel (M3) was very inconsistent. Also, when being moved even a little quickly, or sometimes just randomly on it's own, the mouse would completely turn off/disconnect for a second. Absolutely unacceptable! This mouse had seen maybe a total of 3 months of use, and is already failing. Meanwhile the Viper at half its price has lasted the test of time. Overall, I would say they are similar quality mice. The Burst has slightly better feet IMO, while the Viper is lighter. The switches on the Burst are not bad, but are very abnormally heavy. Considering the Viper is half the price, and my experience with the Burst failing, I would definitely NOT buy the Burst or any Rocatt mouse honestly. Endgame Gear XM series of mice are also AMAZING at this price point.
