Flawless Clarity and Easy Install for 1000-Gallon Ponds
If you're looking to upgrade your pond's health and visual appeal, look no further than this TetraPond Waterfall Filter. This unit is an absolute workhorse, and the difference it made in my 800-gallon pond was immediate and dramatic—a definite five-star investment! Installation was incredibly straightforward. Even for a pond novice, the instructions are clear, and I had the unit placed, connected to the pump, and running in less than an hour. The durable black plastic housing is designed to be easily concealed in the landscape, making the focus entirely on the beautiful waterfall effect it creates, not the equipment itself. The filtration power is outstanding. It handles both mechanical and biological filtration perfectly. It quickly trapped debris and sludge, leading to visibly clearer water within just a few days. More importantly, it provides a massive surface area for beneficial bacteria to colonize, which is the backbone of a healthy, stable aquatic ecosystem. The water quality is now pristine, and my fish and plants are thriving. Maintenance is also simple; the filter media is easy to access and clean when needed. This filter is a game-changer for anyone managing a small to medium-sized pond.

Highly Recommended
Had it for about a month. No complaints or issues, seems to be doing what it’s supposed to do. Water is clear and fish & plants look happy with the water conditions. Super simple to set up. I combined mine with another out-of-pond electric filter, so the waterfall is getting pre-filtered water, which seems to be a great setup so far.

does the job
I just received this a few days ago. Shipment arrived ahead of expected delivery date and in good shape. It seems well made. I mean, it is essentially a bucket with a wide, square lip, and an open cell foam pad with a plastic grill. Oh yes, and a nozzle where you attach a hose. In other words, it's dead stupid simple and not much to screw up. However the weight of the plastic and overall construction seems sturdy and solid. I haven't installed it yet, so if anything comes up I'll update. The connection of the nozzle to the 'bucket' has a plastic nut to hold it in place, and it uses rubber grommets for a seal. Be careful with that nut and don't over tighten but make sure it's tight enough. Most definitely you need to check closely for leaks. If there are any problems, this is where they are likely to happen. Might be worth using some silicone to enhance the seal when you install it. I plan on putting silicone underneath the rubber grommets between the nozzle and the bucket and not smeared over the grommets. Otherwise not much to go wrong as long as you have a little sense (don't crush it under 5 tons of rock or kick the nozzle, for example). If I have any complaint, it's that this item should sell for at least half of the $60ish dollars (minus shipping) that I paid. I mean, it's just a plastic bucket with a couple of modifications.

HUGE.
This was definitely larger than I thought it was going to be but it works fine for the pond. I'll try to add pics later if I remember. Fittings are for 1 and 1 1/4 tubing - I didn't notice and had to get new. No big deal. I'm using with a 1300gph pump (but I suspect it's not as high as it's rated - more like around 1000gph). I don't think I would go too much lower than 1000 if you want a nice flow. The pumps are cheap on Amazon. And it does flow very nicely and is going to look great when the project is done. Does NOT come with bio media and really didn't emphasis that fact on the listing. READ: you have to go buy some lava (or better) rocks to use this. The filter WILL float up without. I don't get why they just didn't include it - therefore 4 stars.

Great filter for smaller pond
I had a pond in a home I bought where they took out the feature and filtration before the move. I'm guessing the pond is around 150 gallons. This filter really cleared it up fast. You could see a noticeable difference the first day. Seems to have a good flow with a 1000 gph pump (tetrapond brand). I also used tetrapond brand tubing due to concerns over fit that appear in many other reviews. This tubing fit perfectly. I've had it about 2 weeks now and am not quite done building out the waterfall but it holds the large flagstone on top well with no cracking. I have the filter that is included, a small barley bail, and bioballs in the product. So far so good! I really like this setup as I think an in pond filter would take up to much room. Go for it!!

love it.
We bought this and a pump to make a filter and aerator for a 1000 gallon stock tank turned into a fish pond. it works great and love to listen to the waterfall noise. keeps the tank aeriated and fish use it to hide behind waterfall too, added lava rocks for filter. has to be cleaned regularly but that was to be expected as we had to keep it under a tree to keep water cool enough in summer in oklahoma.

Great waterfall!
I thought this would be a small skimpy thing, not so! I'd have to say save your money, don't buy the 2-300 waterfall filters, this one is amazing, and HUGE!! it has enough room for the foam round mat at the bottom, a full bag of media a(insides of a new pillow) and topped off with lava type media...and room left on top to throw water hyacinths so they have time to grow their roots back, giving it even more filtration bang, I think for 63$, no pond owner can go wrong with this, within days of installing this an my new 18 watt UV clarifier, my water was sooo clear I could count the rocks on the bottom(4 foot deep pond), simply amazing! And my KOI are more active and vibrant than before! A+ product. cons: comes covered with stickers, a real pain to get off, but this is definitely worth every penny and then some!!! 2500 gallon koi pond owner

Excellent, sturdy, well formed - everything you need for a waterfall plus the added benefit of filtering. Easy to integrate into pond environment with easy to understand instructions. However for the price, I would expect some teflon plumber's tape and the clamps to be included with the kit. My pond needed to be redone after 25 years, and I always wanted a waterfall - and now I have one!! Main work is done, now for plants and details and more camouflage for the waterfall (I could set mine further back into my hill without damaging too many roots of well loved shrubs and plants, so it is set a little more forward than is optimal, but still creates a beautiful effect). Love it!

I’ve been able to create a little relaxation paradise in my backyard. The natural volcano rocks creates a natural filtering system. I’ve added a few other filtering system with the pump to avoid leaves, but the final look is wonderful.

Nice product..make sure to get the hose connection as leak proof as possible...I used plumbers tape, silicon sealant and a steel clamp.check the level before installing to get the best possible waterfall effect....Works fine and good filteration..used some lava rocks and activated carbon with the provided foam
