Save money, live better
My old short (normal*) cylinder started failing, and like a good American, I started shopping for a brand new chair. Since I only had 2 kidneys, I decided to simply clean the old chair, and replace the pneumatic cylinder with this one. It arrived the next day completely undamaged as they had packed it well with a protective plastic cover for the valve release button, and let me tell you guys, this was the best most satisfying upgrade to my home office setup.I was able to install it within 5 minutes and all I needed was a mallet, a punch (to push the old cylinder base out), and a pipe wrench (to twist the old piston out of the chair socket). Installing the new cylinder is a simple press fit, so place it into the base and carefully mount the chair section and enjoy your brand new throne.Amazing value. Got exactly what was advertised! Thank you!

Sitting at the perfect height!
I purchased a new office chair and height adjustable desk. Because I was in a small space I wanted the ability to move around my desk - so a put wheels on the desk, which made it taller than normal. Now my chair was too low for my desk. I ordered this adjustable gas lift so the chair would sit higher, so wrist will be parallel to the desk, and it was a game changer. The replacement gas lift helped me sit ergonomically in my workspot. Would I recommend this gas lift? Definitely.

Misadventure
I needed a replacement air lift cylinder for my lab stool. I ordered a cylinder (not this one) then struggled to get the old cylinder out of the chair. I applied penetrating oil and still needed a 3 foot breaker bar on the pipe wrench while standing on a 3 foot breaker bar to hold the chair from moving. The wrench put deep gouges in the old cylinder, but it came loose. The replacement turned out to be too short. It also would not seat completely, and the chair would not adjust height. I was not able to measure the cylinder while it was still in the chair and ordered the wrong cylinder. That is on me.I ordered this cylinder after I was able to measure the original. It fits, and the chair height is adjustable.Don't believe the videos that show how easy the cylinder is to remove. More than once I thought the torque would ruin the chair. This is a good product. It went in easy. I hope I never have to replace another one of these.Update:The chair is now wobbly. The metal in the chair's seat must have deformed when I removed the old cylinder with such force. I need a new chair.

Works with Steelcase Leap V2
I wanted to convert my Steelcase Leap V2 to a stool but the conversion kit they sell are $120+. I took my chair apart and measured the hydraulic and this one seemed to fit so I ordered it. Well, what do you know, this thing fits perfectly! But to make the height adjustment work, I had to cut the tip of the orange plastic part flush with the casing. This allowed me to save so much money.

VERY very tall!
I like the long travel range, but they are a bit tall for a regular office chair. The minimum height about matches the maximum height of a standard office chair cylinder. Installation is simple: remove the old cylinder and drop the new one into place. Extracting the old cylinder was a challenge: I had to turn the base on it’s side and push the old cylinder out with tools. It is a friction-only fit— no screws or twisting necessary.

GARBAGE
EDIT: Garbage, putting the original smaller lift on because the lift doesnt even stay up high. constantly dropping. several inches at a time and then a slow decent. waste of moneyEDIT: HAD TO RETURN NOT EVEN A MONTH OLDIm going to give it the benefit of the doubt and assume I got a defective one because while sitting my chair will randomly drop about an inch. At first I assumed it was a fluke but now its doing it over and over. Replacement is on the way and I hope it doesn't do the same. Will update review once I have the second oneORGINAL REVIEW:Ill start with install. Took me literally 10 minutes. Ive built my chair a few times and had to remove the gas lift and it is a pain but if you have a mallet then its a few hard smacks and itll pop right out. anyone with a standing desk knows that they are amazing for adjusting to the perfect sit height but with gaming style chairs, the highest setting is often too low for the lowest setting on a standing desk. after many chairs and bar stools i was about to just get a drafting chair before i had the idea of just replacing the gas lift. to my surprise it is a thing and it just saved me 100+ dollars and breathed new life into my 500 dollar chair that was about to become a coat rack as it was not helping me to be at my desk for 10+ hrs a day. on the lowest setting, my feet barely touch the ground (I'm 5'10) now i can enjoy my chair AND MY DESK fully

Worked well
This piston worked very well. I did have to return due to length, but at no fault to seller. I assumed the measurements and was way off. I used until replacement size was received and was very happy with the performance of this. Check the measurements, if they are appropriate this is a solid purchase. Very sturdy
