This freezer is nice and lightweight, got down to temp quickly. My only complaint is that it arrived with a little dent

This garage ready freezer made a great addition to my life. Being able to buy as much frozen groceries at a time as I want is really freeing. Anytime your favorite slice of meat is on sale, you can stock up and store it for later. It keeps very cold and has a lot of room for food. It's not very loud, but is noticeable if you stay in the room with it. I wouldn't recommend to keep this inside your house, but you certainly could if a small amount of electrical noise doesn't bother you. This will likely pay for itself within a year if you buy your groceries on sale.

We purchased this new freezer to replace and older (20+ yrs) freezer and we're very happy with it. It arrived with no damages to shipping box or the freezer at all. Once we unwrapped it and placed it into the house where we wanted it, we waited a few hours to allow the gas & oil to settle and we plugged it in to get it cold. It didn't take but a couple hours to get it to where we could transfer the food into it and was freezing nicely. The instructions recommend setting it to half way to get it going on the first "run". After everything was well frozen, I turned it down a half of notch to save on energy and everything is still very frozen as it should be. I probably could go down a little more if I need to, but it's fine. It runs very quiet and you would never know it's running. To the people who complained that it was noisy, you must realize that any freezer or fridge that has been moved around and on it's side must sit for a period of time to allow everything to settle again. Failing to do so can ruin your investment!

Received package and immediately unpacked and plugged the freezer in. Everything worked and it started getting cold right away. Upon further inspection of the seal, I noticed the left side was not dealing properly. At first I thought I just needed to settle so I went back and checked it 30 minutes later, it still would not seal. When I lifted the lid I saw that there was black marks on the white insulation. Once I started looking around the outside casing, it appeared that the freezer had been bounced around like a pinball. All the corners were cracked and damaged, the left side had a considerable dent in the top and bottom and the back right corner also had a big dent in it. With all these defects the lid was crooked and for that reason it would not seal. Even with the freezer working properly, without a seal all it is is scrap metal.

We are a family of 3 adults, me, my husband and our 25 year old son. Buying in bulk is great but with only 3, freezing is a must. Now I can buy, portion to freezer bags and pop in the chest freezer. To save time and $, I can cook larger meals and freeze portions for busy nights. The small basket and shelf make things like spare trays of ice cubes and bags of frozen fruit for smoothies easy to reach. And the unit does not take up a ton of space in our storage room.

UPDATE: After I took the video I posted with my review, I unplugged the freezer for 24 hours before plugging it back in, the noise hasn't happened again since then. I'm not sure if that's something that might just happen the first time it's turned on, or if it might've been shaken around when it was being delivered, but just to be on the safe side let this freezer sit for about a day after you receive it before plugging it in. So far it works great, it didn’t arrive damaged, and the cup of water and ice cream I put in as a test both froze over completely as expected, the only thing I’m concerned about is every now and then the freezer will turn on and make this noise for about 30 seconds, this is my first time owning a chest freezer so I’m not sure if this is normal which is why I’m bringing it up here, if this is what chest freezers do than as of right now I can definitely recommend this. If they aren’t supposed to be doing this, then, well, I’ll update the review based on how hard it is to fix/replace

When our second hand(ok,3rd hand) freezer finally called it quits,I began my search for a replacement. After 6 months of price watching,I placed my order. Originally,not here on Amazon,after HD miserably handled that order I scrolled freezers here and found this RCA Chest Freezer for an incredible price! I gained 2 cf,a basket,a drain plug for defrosting ease,a power indicator light,and adjustable temperature control. And delivery time was amazing! Scheduled to arrive on a Tuesday,received it the Friday prior!! My electric bill has not had any noticeable increase,so I consider it to be energy efficient,and economically efficient too-having the extra space allowing me to again buy in quantity saves me more than it costs to operate it. I’m over 55,have 14 steps up to porch(snow country too) so had “whippersnapper” neighbor come help me get the freezer into the house. Imagine my surprise when he picked it up and carried it by himself all the way!!! It is so lightweight-incredible!! Definitely a 5 star purchase! There is no interior light in this freezer,but that is the only thing I would suggest they “fix”. Woulda been nice to have a bit of light,but no big concern-the old one didn’t have light either. I absolutely love my RCA Freezer!!

it is dented up you are guarantied to get a dented up freezer here, don't listen to that voice that says well I might not get one NOOO!!! Don't listen!!!! with that said it has been very reliable!!! and extremely energy efficient!! I am in California where they kept shutting off our power without regard to our food or offering replacement (PG&E shut off) besides that while others food went bad by the time peoples power was turned on, my food was still Frozen!!! so while I gave negitive before over Dents because how it has performed it earned the 5 stars!!!

Not a lot of space taken up but holds more than it it looks like it should good price for it

So glad I went with black and not white for my kegerator this time!
