DO NOT ORDER THIS KNIFE if you are looking for the PowerAssist EOD. If you are looking for the just the PowerAssist with the V-cutter and the phillips screwdriver instead of the Fuzewell/C-4 spike, then you will be fine. Both Amazon and Focus Camera are having a packaging issue where the packaging says PowerAssist EOD but the actual tool is just the PowerAssist. I have ordered 2 of them straight from Amazon which when they found out, took the product off due to the issue. I have also ordered one from Focus Camera (The Other Seller) and they too sent me the wrong one. So I am on my 3rd multitool and it is still the wrong one. I am waiting on them to just buy the extra parts and send them my way or make sure they send me the correct one but not much has happened. I gave it a 3 stars because it is an overall great multitool. It just isn't the PowerAssist EOD so don't be fooled into thinking it is.

Now I'm a SOG lover and I HATE to leave a bad review. The idea, it's great! Functionally, good! My only dislike with this multi-tool. When using the pliers be careful you don't slip off your piece.... Your palm will hate you! I found out the hard way! If you want to get something nice for someone you hate... This tool will be the right choice! So buyer beware! What is more important....

OK, I've bought a few of these power assist items now and I'm sure you are wondering are these legal? First, these are NOT switchblades. You can just do a few internet searches about power assist and the state that you live in and they should be legal. As many have said this is a big heavy tool. Seems very well made and yes you could probably clip through a chain link fence pretty quickly with that wire cutter. I wouldn't recommend it on a hike or backpacking trip, but if you're a scout dad like me and want something for car camping, might be a nice conversation piece assuming the other dads don't think you're a psycho when you whip it out.Likewise, its also just too nice to keep in your toolbox where it might get dinged with other "lesser tools".This is something you keep in your nightstand drawer or leave it locked up with your firearm and take it with you to the range. Wear it at that time, it might come in useful now and then.Its well made and cool, so why not 5 stars. These are picky, but its the truth. Tools. They give you a fuse well spike and a file. I'm not a real expert, but I think fuse well spikes are used for explosive devices. Granted this is a SOG and maybe a Navy Seal needs that, but I honestly would have preferred scissors. As far as the file, I would have opted for a mini saw instead. Now, those of you who know SOG will say, hey dummy, if its that important, SOG sells scissors and a saw and you can swap those with the spike and file. I get that--which incidentally is an awesome feature of this SOG--you can customize. But bottomline is I would have preferred paying maybe a few bucks more for a "civilian" version that had the scissors and the saw in it versus spending another $25 to customize it.

The can openers do NOT function well. The engineer who designed this should be kept on canned food for a week and have to use the two can openers to open his food, would serve him right.The needle nose pliers are ok, but can't fold out of the way like a leatherman, and this is problematic when using some of the other tools, the knife is good, accessing the various tools is a pain in the #ss.I might as well have lit the money I spent on this on fire. The other ratings are exaggerated. SOG usually makes decently designed products, this is not one of them. Too late to return this paperweight :-(

I had to send back this multi tool because I noticed right away that the Philips screwdriver was defected and only half of it was carved out but the rest was not. To give you an idea of what screwdriver looked like think of a long glass breaker... But other than that it's a good tool and everything else functioned well.

This was purchased as a gift to a family member in the military, from a family member in the military.The result was a complete success. The recipient thought it was the coolest thing ever and spent hours and hours finding uses for it.The knife itself is larger than the Gerber all-in-one tools that I've favored for years, but it still fits comfortable on the belt loop without too much drag.It's got all of the features that the average civilian (or military EOD tech) would need, so if you're looking for a good all-in-one tool for yourself or as a gift for that military person on your list - I'd wholeheartedly recommend this one as a pretty neat tool.

This tool is great out of the box, lightweight, nicely oiled, rugged. I know some reviews said the items they got did not have spring assisted blades, maybe they got bad lemons, the blades on my tool are spring assisted and work great.as far as quality, it looks superb, but only time will tell.

The thickness of the steel is by far inferior to the better Leathermans, and the pliers are a real piece of crap. Tried to cut a dime in half like one of the other reviewers stated he did, and not only did it fail, i almost bent the handles from the pressure I was using. I'm an electrician/carpenter, and as far as tools go-forget it, and get the real thing. This tactical crap SOG is making is for show, and wanna be Navy Seals.
