Just what was needed in my camper
I purchased this to install in my camper. I live in it year round and having a tankless water heater is great. It was easy to set up. I like it shows what temp the water is at and that is shows your GPM when running hot water. I do have a well with good water pressure. The instructions say it need 50 to 60 psi to work properly. So I'm not sure if it would work with a camper water pump that is pulling from a tank. I am concerned that with the short exhaust pipe that the cold sub zero air might freeze the water on realy cold nights. I do keep the camper heated so I'm thinking it will be ok. Time will tell. Overall it feels like a solid unit. Easy to read and use display.

Love them
I've bought four so far for different houses I love these so much. Looks like an iPad on the wall, frees up closet space, infinite hot water. Only downside is a nonstandard vent size. Its fine unless you need to connect up to existing exhaust stack. Ended up having to adapt automotive piping.

Quick and easy
Was very easy to install all of the parts came there great to have everything in one box. Only needed to pick up a couple of unions to put the whole thing together. Gave hot water in a matter of minutes and the digital readout was fantastic tell you how many gallons per minute you were using which was kind of cool

Looks awesome, sounds good, works for our 4000 square ft home.
Call me crazy, but I installed this in a 4000 square ft home with 4 bathrooms. It is just 3 of us though. So I think I can answer some questions people have in a larger home. I gave this thing 4 stars originally because of the lower power, but then UPDATED moved to 5 stars since it does so well for us. It looks awesome, sounds good, small, light weight. Most people in reviews talk about showers. Well our household take primarily baths. For filling a bathtub, you need to play with the settings. At 48 degree F water here in MI, I found turning water heater down to 1.5 gpm works. I set the temperature at 131 degrees at the water heater. By the time it gets to my huge Jaccuzzi, it goes down to 115 degrees. That is hot, so I was able to add a tiny bit of cold and got a Jaccuzzi tub full at 97 degrees in about 30 minutes. Not too bad. Plus it is hotter and can fill to any higher level than my previous 50 gallon water heater. Next test, a regular small bathtub, but at the far end of my house. The water lines run through the garage ceiling. By the time it gets there, it is at 106 degrees and takes about 10 minutes to fill the tub. This small tub actually was the hardest to get just right. Originally I had the water at 2.4 gpm, and it was fine for the big tub, but terrible for this far smaller tub. This is why I set the flow to 1.5 gpm right at the water heater. I think I will just leave it there, rather then keep having to adjust. Ok, 1.5 gpm is really low and 2 people cannot fill a tub at the same time, but it works for us and you can fill the 2nd tub immediately after. For your closer bathrooms, you can get a bit more gpm by adding some cold water. We had a 50 gallon direct vent gas water heater. This was not perfect either. We could never get more than 1/2 a tub before cold water started coming out. So even though this tankless water heater takes a longer time to fill a tub, it can keep going until it is full. So we just set the timer on the Jaccuzzi to 20 minutes and then come back and check on it. Compromises but the benefits are how efficient it is, how it never runs out of hot water, and since it is lower power, it has to be safer. It is safer than having a tank, that is for sure. Check water heater mythbusters on yout.So I am not necessarily recommending someone with a 4000 square ft house to buy this. Although for a conservative family that has no problem with compromising a little time for filling a tub for efficiency, you can definitely get by.Next test, faucets. You can run 2 faucets at the same time at my settings. I imagine at 2.5 gpm maybe 3 faucets but I do not want to keep changing the flow rate.I really love the touch screen and the looks are nice. Btw plan on a dozen trips to buy pipe parts. I also bought more exhaust vent. The exact same. Basically China makes these vent kits the exact same size so I can extend mine. Under 20 bucks online. Also plan on spending another 300 bucks on pipe parts. This is because you have to get the pipes from where your tank water heater was to where your tankless water heater is. I think it is worth it. It will save $250 a year. Btw, it felt good getting rid of that big bulky and ugly tank water heater.7/6/2017 Update: I just want to add that as the summer comes, I was able to lower temperature on the water heater to 113 degrees. So in the summer this thing has extra capacity available. I still just leave it at 1.5 gpm. Use of this water heater has become normal for us.

I had to return this water heater.
This heater is probably perfectly good, however, nowhere on the website did it state that it needed to be installed by a professional in order to maintain the warranty. On top of that there is no documentation before you buy it as to the requirements for clearance around the heater. This is why I returned it. I never tried it. I purchased another brand of heater and my warranty is good (even though I installed it myself) and it required a lot less clearance for the propane to operate correctly and safely.

Easy to install
This was a direct replacement for a unit in our food truck. The previous owner let it freeze with water in it destroying it. If you are going to leave it in a cabin ot RV in the winter, blow out all your water lines with air from a air compressor before you do. Camping World, Walmart and any RV supply store will have the fitting to do that. Let the pressure build and open all the faucets one at a time till no water comes out. Do it several times. It's an expensive mistake to make. The unit I replaced was brand new.

Eccotemp does not stand behind their warranty
When it worked it was good. I purchased the first one in the USA Idaho. It lasted about 14 or 15 months started leaking water in the heat exchanger and shorted out the control panel. So I contacted them aout warranty (stated 2 year warranty) , when I told them I lived in Canada, they told me there was no warranty. Even though it is exactly the same one sold by Amazon in Canada. So I bought the exact same one from Amazon, mainly for ease of installation, 14 months later the heat exchanger started leaking and shorted it out. Contacted them about warranty, sent all the information they required pictures, invoice etc( keep in mind this has taken three weeks trying to get answers) on hold on the phone twice for at least 15 mins only to have them hang up. Multiple emails stalling me. Then today they told me no warranty because it’s my fault because of condensation, I’ve had issues with warranties before, but never like this. So my recommendation to any person purchasing a demand tankless water heater, run away from Eccotemp as fast as you can heaters only last over a year and their warranty isn’t worth the paper it is written on. If I had any say at Amazon Eccotemp would no longer be a supplier. I may even close my account at Amazon because of the way I have been treated by Eccotemp. The tech support guy treated me like i was stupid, not professional at all. (I’m a certified auto mechanic for 50 years and a certified auto parts person, so when it comes to hot water heat exchangers I’ve lots of experience, every vehicle has two at least, in all my time I’ve never seen one leak from outside condensation) BUYER BEWARE OF ECCOTEMP PRODUCTS

It works but could be improved
I installed this at my off-grid cabin to provide propane-based water heating for dishwashing, and in future, a shower. Given the price, it is an affordable means of adding hot water facilities in an off-grid setting. The fan that comes on when the heater is operating is very loud. Not a huge concern for me but it might be for others. My biggest issue is that the heater will only engage when the water throughput is at least 0.6 gallons per minute. There is no means to adjust this. You therefore cannot run the hot water slowly to do dishes, for example. 0.6 GPM is actually quite a fast flow of tap water and when you are relying on collected rainwater and have limited water storage, you don't want to be running the tap wide open just to wash a few dishes. On the positive side, it works and it is reasonably priced.

Correction not so Great water heater
Fantastic heater, just takes a bit of getting used to as it's not instant as fan needs to start before heating water, well I thought it was fantastic till the unit froze, costing me 2000 to repair damage and emergency replacement. What they miss is that if the outside temp drops to let’s say -35c and the outside air gets drawn back in the unit froze up. This is because their exhaust pipe is too close to outside and should have a flap outside to stop air from coming in. Not happy with having wasted 600 on this unit.

NOT HAPPY!
I asked them if this was good for where I lived they said yes but reading this I find it's not good at over 2000ft I am at 3000.Also when I called support as soon as I mentioned this they hung up on me. Its cheaply made irregardless I cant see this passing certification.and with the support hanging up says to me all the good reviews are likely fake.NOT HAPPY!
