I live in a home originally built in early 1800's. The front door glass handles kept pulling off over the years.The spindle was a little under 3 1/2 inches long. This new spindle is 4 inches and is PERFECT!So far, the handles are not falling off! Yay!

Simply a door knob spindle

I recently replaced the doorknobs on a couple of interior doors, but the problem is that these are old doors and of a non-standard thickness. The spindles in the kits were all too short. I replace one with this as a trial to see if it fixed the problem of the doorknob constantly coming off. It did! Works spectacularly. I’m ordering more for the rest of the interior doors. I was afraid I’d have to replace the entire mechanism, but this was a simple, easy solution.

The spindle arrived quickly; unfortunately as it turned out, it wasn't the right size. Instead of 9/32" I needed a 5/16" spindle. Surprising how much difference 1/32" makes.

Perfect, exactly what I needed. I have old glass door knobs with 3 1/2 inch spindles that kept coming out. This 4 inch fit perfect in the old hardware/knobs and solved the issue.Just as described and arrived much earlier than expected even without being Prime. Thanks!

There was no like or dislike. All I wanted was for it to fit. It did. I purchased locally the knob set, and it came with a 3 1/2 inch shaft, that didn't fit. The right part makes the job go much smoother.

Exactly as described and hopefully has fixed the problem with the doorknob popping off. Ordered because it is longer than the spindle that came with my doorknob and doorknob can screw on further. It’s been installed about a month and no issues

This spindle does what you'd expect it to do. and it came relatively quickly.
