Easy setup, works with Tuya / Smart Life app, nice bright white lighting for my BBQ
I have an outdoor BBQ area, with a circuit that has a switch which, when turned on, activates two floodlights and a covered (weatherproof) outlet. I wanted to put a WiFi hub in the outlet, to communicate with a pool thermometer. However, for that to work properly, the circuit had to be on 24/7, which meant that the floodlights also would be on 24/7. I thought about changing the wiring, but then realized that I could just replace the two standard floodlight bulbs with smart bulbs. That way, I could leave the circuit active, but have the bulbs off until I needed to turn them on via a smart app. So I bought these bulbs. Installed them today (so I can't speak to their durability) but setup was very easy. Screw the bulb into the fitting; turn circuit on; the bulb flashes (showing that it's in pairing mode); connect phone to my "Internet of things" WiFi channel (2.4GHz); open the Tuya app (no need to download the dedicated Cree app); the app immediately recognized the bulb; carried out a firmware update (to v 1.08); and bingo, it works perfectly. I can now turn it off and on; change the brightness, and white color temperature (I like 5000K daylight white); set it to go on at sunset, off at 10pm. Wonderful. Can't comment on other colors (no interest in them). These bulbs are worth the money.

Honest review. Good spotlight, very good.
The tunable white light is pretty bright, the colors are obviously less bright, but if you've used these type of lamps before you know that's normal. The CREE app doesnt work anymore so dont bother downloading that. Just use the smartlife app and it autodetects the lamp and setup is very very easy. No inputting of wifi passwords, just select your wifi and thats all you need. I'm pretty impressed with these, thinking about getting more, very handy around the house. Definately good value for money. Thought I'd give a little update. I have 4 of these, 2 outside and 2 inside. Neither of them have any issues. Its is obviously important that if you hang your light outside, you use a proper socket. When i bought them they were $10 a piece, which is a decent price for what you get in return.

Smart choice
I had never used smart bulbs before but I had just used two of the light sockets in my carport to put in some smart cameras, and since they needed to be constantly powered, I needed bulbs that could be turned on and off independent of the main power supply for the remaining bulb sockets. I am very pleased. I am able to schedule the lights to turn on automatically at sunset and turn off at a specific time of my choosing. So now I leave the main power supply on for the carport lighting and not only do the cameras do their job, but these lightbulbs automatically turn on and off, so I don’t have to remember to do it manually. I love the idea that the color temperature could be changed, as I preferred a very yellow color to help deter the attraction of South Florida bugs at night. So I had them set to mimic the vintage yellow bug lights that I had previously used. I can adjust the amount of brightness to the exact level I prefer. These are fantastic and I hope they are long lasting but time will tell. I would definitely recommend these and I would buy them again.

Good lights, but app is lacking
Have had these bulbs for about a year. They are in use over a planted aquarium. The bulbs are great themselves, but the app is mediocre. Using the bulbs in white mode, there is a ton of available light, and the color spectrum and intensity is easily controlled. However, the light is significantly dimmer when using the color options. This was not clear. Getting the bulbs and app to run through the house wifi was reasonably straightforward, though not seamless. Several of them took a couple of tries before they were found. The app has been a challenge, if it is not used for a period of time, you get locked out, and even though an account is created with a password, the phone (iphone) does not remember it. This is the only app where this issue has been encountered. The hassle is that the password has to be reset - fortunately the settings are not lost in this process. With better documentation and features, as well as an app that is remembered on the phone, it would be a 5 star review. As it sits, the lights are set up through a timer, as the app does not provide timing ability - so they are set to a constant setting and the timer controls on and off. Originally, I had hoped for more, such as ability to control lights better to start with a blue moonlight setting, then transition to lower light and increase intensity over a couple hours to full light, then reverse. But the app does not have that sort of control.

Pleasantly surprised!
I am pleasantly surprised with how solid this light performs. Despite having few (if any) reviews, the app was surprisingly good, organized and easy to use with lots of features. Setup was fairly smooth. App allows for sharing with multiple accounts, automations, scenes and a "follow the sun" feature that adjusts on a highly specific and customizable schedule. The colors are solid.. nothing amazing. Whites are great! Dims smoothly and responds immediately to the app. And, no buzzing or high pitched noises! I will say that the way the bulb itself looks when the colors are being used is not the best. There are three separate bulbs inside that emit color (whites are separate) and when looking at the bulbs, you can see these three distinctly which gives a cheap look. Admittedly, I don't yet know all the ins and outs of how this will function over time. For example, how does it behave turning on and off the switch, does it have odd drop outs or disconnects, how will it behave after power returns from an outage, does it reconnect to internet easily, can you control via bluetooth if internet is down, how well do the color perform outdoors? Hopefully more reviews will answer these questions, but I don't have any issues so far and am pleasantly surprised by this product. Keep it up Cree!

Will Not Connect to my Network
Will Not Connect to my Network I am giving this product a ONE Star. It's bright and sturdy and can make for a very useful out door LED floodlight. But, I have to give it ONE STAR overall because the Setup App is not very SMART. Like many owners of their own routers there is a security setting called MAC ADDRESS FILTERING. This allows the router owner to only admit to your network known, registered MAC Addresses of all your devices in your household network. On all Ethernet devices that MAC address is labeled on the device or hard printed on the device. These CREE Smart Bulbs do not allow the customer to discover the MAC address in the setup application. A call to CREE customer support line resulted in no remedy. A very nicely constructed bulb, but useless to me without being able to discover it's MAC Address.

Excellent outdoor Wifi/Bluetooth bulb. Easy to activate!
Bought 2 of these outdoor flood lights for an existing fixture in the driveway. Did not download the CREE app, used the SmartHome app since I already had a few bulbs inside that uses WiFi and Bluetooth to setup. It worked perfectly out of the box! Once I installed (one at a time) and with the SmartHome app already open, I hit the add button. My phone was already connected to the proper 2.4ghz channel and Bluetooth was on. It instantly found the bulb and added it to the app. It then asked to update from v1.04 to v1.08...so I let it go. Took a few minutes and it was good to go. I then switched over to the Alexa app and saw that Alexa picked up the bulb right away (SmartHome already had permissions set to integrate) and was easily able to put the light under the outside light category and set up a routine to turn on and off (I used an existing routine to turn on and off with the sunrise and sunset) Installing the second bulb in the same fixture was the same. Picture perfect and easy! I have not messed around with the colors and brightness much. I set it to white 3k and it works great and is bright enough for my needs. It does originally activate with white 6.5k, but like a more "natural" light with the 3k for LEDs ... Just my preference. If you read all of this, I highly recommend this bulb for outdoor use. I purchased them for $14.99 each in May 2025.

You must have a dedicated 2.4Ghz channel for these to work
Took me forever to get these set up. Just would not connect to my 2.4ghz channel because my 2.4 and 5ghz were chained. Once I separated the channels on the router it got a little better. Cree software is finicky if you minimize the app (for any reason) it interrupts the set up and you have to start over. Now that it’s set up I was able to connect to Alexa very easily and they do work as described with one caveat. When in colour mode (any colour) it’s not nearly as bright as when using white light. White is bright and very nice you can warm up the lighting using the app if it’s too white for you.
