Not as good as it used to be
I had a Ghostek Nautilis case which lasted about a year and a half before it finally gave out. It did really well, and I was a fan, until I replaced it recently with the same case. For some reason, I thought my original case was made in the USA, and as I said, that case lasted a long time, and screen sensitivity was very good, as was, it’s waterproof quality. However, forward to 2023 when I replace my case, and its durability was extremely short-lived. The screen was not as sensitive and occasionally it took effort to have the screen react to touch. I did notice, too, that the screen also seem to attract oils and smear very easily, also greatly affecting it sensitivity. And no, I don’t wear a lot of lotion or do dirty work where my screen would get smudgy. I am perpetually washing my hands throughout the day. It also scratched extremely easily, and with the one drop and scratches to the screen (and my previous phone had several similar drops without the same effect) the screen was cut, and I lost the waterproof quality, which is very important to me, as I wash my phone regularly, and also have it in and around water. That being said, I have dropped it several times, and the protective quality was good. which is why I gave it better stars for durability and sturdiness. With the drops, my iphone screen was never scratched and my phone stayed intact and functional. If I didn’t care about a waterproof quality or screen sensitivity, I would’ve kept the case for a bit longer; but I care, so it had to go. I did not bother to contact the company, as I did the first time around when my case was leaking (and they did send me a replacement), because I don’t believe that a replacement case is going to be any better. As I said, I think my first phone case may have been made in the states. This second phone case was definitely not made in the states, and the quality is definitely lacking. That being said, I have changed back to LP, which is the brand that I used prior to trying Ghostek, and the difference is palpable (not to be punny). Current case is so much better. Not sure that I will ever stray again.

Great case
Just got this case and I must say I am impressed. A very good fit and finish. It appears to be a very durable case. It has a nice semi translucent finish (sheerness) and you can still see the color of the iPhone. It works great with the MagSafe charger. I have not tried out to see if it is waterproof other then a leak test, but that will come shortly. Nice touch having the spot for a tether. Overall a nice thin case that should provide good protection.

Almost perfect
The case feels sturdy and fairly compact, I feel safe with it on and don’t think it will break. I haven’t tested the water proofing, which I got this case specifically for since I’m always on the water for my job. The screen responds well and doesn’t feel like there is any delay in the response. My only gripe is that it scratches easily, the screen already has some minor scratches after I put it in my pocket with my earphone case. This is very disappointing, but the damage is minor and I only notice it if I’m really paying attention to it so I’m still willing to give it a good rating. However, I can’t have anything in the pocket with it anymore which can be annoying so I can’t give it a perfect rating. Overall it’s a good case.

So far very impressed
Right out of the box it felt so much sturdier and better made than the last pricy case I had (another popular brand). The gasket is definitely secured and sealed and did not come out or loose like my last case, it’s totally secured. This is a definite PLUS. Also impressed with touchscreen being so much better than last case.

Durable, water resistant
I like the Nautical case from Ghostek, so I ordered two when we got “new” phones. This case doesn’t stretch out of shape like some popular brands. It’s made of a firm material that seals tightly around my phone. The charging port plug seals firmly but isn’t difficult to open for charging. Other water resistant cases failed me in this area. I drop my phone a occasionally, so I know the shock protection is very good. I haven’t dropped it 10 feet onto concrete, but typical drops 2-3 feet on the floor over several years haven’t damaged my iPhone. I appreciate that Ghostek prices their cases reasonably. They also stand behind their products.

Worked in the test, not in the ocean
Unfortunately, this case didn’t work well. I did the test with a paper towel and a bowl water, and although the case didn’t seem to want to close properly at the bottom, the case passed the test just fine. I assumed the fit just bulged a tad where the power cord attached. However, once I put my phone in the case and took it to the beach, it was immediately clear that there was a tiny leak. Not much water got in, but enough that it made the touchscreen non-functional (there was a splotch of water on about 1/4 of the screen). I would have taken a photo of what happened, but for obvious reasons, couldn’t. I’ve attached photos of the empty case though, showing how it doesn’t close seamlessly and where I suspect the case leaks. If you get a case that does the same, I’d suggest returning it, even if it passes the water bowl test. Once the phone is inside, it will definitely have a slow leak. The good news is that my phone was fine, thanks to the small amount of water that got in and the phone’s water resistance. It was disappointing though, because I wasn’t able to get pictures of snorkeling like I’d hoped.

This case will ruin your Vacation.
If your looking to ruin your vacation, buy this case. Besides the nice look that it has (which is the reason I bought it). It is not worth the struggle it gave me. You can see why this phone case fails as soon as you place your phone inside and "close" it. I had nothing but blurry pictures on my first day of Vacation, pictures I can never get back (due to fog inside the case). The case allowed water in, which almost ruined my iPhone 12 Pro. Don't go for the nice looking case, go with something made for water. Luckily the place I vacationed at had cases made to withstand water. I spent a total of $80 between this case and the one I bought, don't make the mistake and buy this case.

Feel like a good seal, but didn't water test it; hard to open charging port
The case feels like it seals tight around the iPhone, but I haven't water tested it. The case feels high quality. The screen is easy to use even while in the case. The charging port has a little door that can be opened to charge. The normal iPhone charger fits here. The door is really hard to open - it has a tiny pull-tab to open the door, and it is hard to grab the pull-tab. I'm concerned the pull tab will break, and the charging door will be stuck closed, but so far, it is working.
