Gets my son excited for math!
My son is a VERY reluctant reader. He strongly dislikes anything involving reading. This gets him reading while practicing math, and he actually doesn’t mind it (too much). He’s excited for anything to do with Minecraft. I bought the whole series for summer practice.

Fun book, Covers a good amount of material, Kid loves it.
I bought this for my rising kindergartner, who, while he has never played Minecraft, is obsessed with the idea. He's got a knack for numbers, and loves doing math problems, but the standard first and second grade workbooks were too dry. He absolutely loves this book. We usually do a couple pages in the evening and he's always begging to do, "just one more page". I have to read the problems to him (while he may have a knack for numbers, he's not had much interest in letters and reading to this point), but the wording is not super complicated. I am guessing a student on reading level for grade 1 or 2 would be able to read them himself (maybe closer to grade 2). We're about a quarter of the way through the book and I think the problems are progressing in difficulty in a smooth way and he loves the little jokes at the end of each section (dont think he actually gets them, but he likes the idea. I dont play minecraft either, but I know enough about it that the jokes actually make me laugh). I think this book would suit the needs of a kid who either loves minecraft and wordproblems or may pique the interest in a kid who isnt fond of math but loves minecraft. The book starts with adding and subtracting two numbers from 0 to 10, then moves to adding 0 to 20, then subtracting 0 to 20, then moves to adding three numbers 0 to 20, then subtracting three number 0 to 20, then moves to adding or subtracting four number 0 to 20, then moves to adding 0 to 100 and subtracting 0 to 100.

Great!!!
My math loving child adores this book. The problems and language used are very age appropriate for my newer reading 6yo. My mining enthusiast completed it in about a month. We will definitely order more books!

Fun at first, but gets old quick
My first grader (7 years old) is very smart, but needed a little more practice with paying attention to the details of word problems. This definitely helped her understand the importance of slowly reading every word, but after a few pages, she had figured it out and was already bored.

Great for Reluctant Readers!
Let me preface this review.... we are first year homeschoolers. My 3rd grader has dyslexia, dysgraphia, and ADHD. He is a seriously, reluctant reader because he struggles. While he enjoys math, he HATES word problems. HE LOVES MINECRAFT! It totally makes sense to combine his love with something he doesn't really enjoy all that much. Math for Minecrafters Word Problems has been a serious life saver for us! We work in this workbook every other day to practice understanding and identifying concepts in math. This is helping to build his skills while also keeping him entertained. This is a winner in our homeschool, and we have branched out to purchase Writing for Minecrafters and Spelling for Minecrafters! I am a lifelong fan of this author and publisher! Many thanks from a tired mama of three!Pros:Minecraft theme including pictures, words, character names, and ideasBuilds upon skillsColorfulGreat quality printed materialsVariety of subjects and grades for Minecrafters of all ages/skillsCons:Nothing that I can think of. I cannot sing enough praises for this workbook for my struggling reader.
