Q: Is this the new 2020 version with added color and improved sound?

I don't know what's different in the new 2020 version, but the version I have is plastic. Some parts are transparent, others are silver and black (nothing is red, like the picture). I didn't try out the sound yet.

Q: Are the dimensions shown correct? They seem unrealistically small.

As far as I know the dimensions are correct. I have not had anyone mention otherwise.

Q: The distributor gear does not mesh with the gear off the crankshaft--it's about 1 mm too high and two mm to the left. Anyway to adjust it?

Without more information, I'm guessing it's just that something isn't quite tightened all the way and that's throwing it off. These parts should all fit pretty much perfectly. Q: I'm up to step 7 in the assembly and tried rotating the crankshaft, but it won't rotate. What did I do wrong and how can I correct it?

It's very hard to know without seeing a pic/video of the issue. Once put together, the crankshaft will turn via the electric motor, and you may feel some resistance when trying to turn it manually... At step 7, it sounds like maybe something wasn't quite connected properly... but, again, hard to say without seeing it. Thanks!
