ESEE Knives Molle Back Attachment for 5P and 6P

I have had my Esee 5 for awhile and have wanted the molle backing. I finally bit the bullet ordered it in. I was really pleased with the design and how it is put together, I love the molle strapping on the back and the ability to put an Esee survival pouch on it, ( I purchased the pouch before I ordered the molle backing.} This set up makes for a really fantastic survival set up, it seemed a bit pricey until I put it all together, its really cool and really a functional piece of survival gear, typical as Esee gear is !!...shipping and delivery was fast and accurate. I`m relly satisfied and would do it again !!.

Der Mollerücken macht was er soll und hält das Messer sehr gut. Zwei negative Punkte habe ich aber, welche zu Punktabzug führen. 1. Am Molleback befindet sich eine Schlaufe mit einem metallenen Druckknopf. Abgesehen davon, das sich die Länge etwas hakelig einstellen lässt, drückt das Metall des Druckknopfes direkt auf die Griffschale des Messers. Es hört sich so nicht schlecht an, doch hinterlässt das Metall auf Dauer Riefen und Abrieb auf den Griffschalen. Gerade bei den neuen farbigen 3D Griffschalen ist das sehr ärgerlich und sollte vielleicht durch ein Textilschutz verändert werden. 2. Der Molleback ist ein Tick zu Stramm fürs Esee 5. Es passt zwar alles, aber ist er nicht ganz eben. Fällt nicht auf, wollt es nur erwähnt haben. (ist auch nicht wellig oder so, es ergibt sich nur ein Absatz zwischen dem „Messer anliegenden Teil“ und dem „Kydex-Teil“. Ansonsten top Verarbeitung, eine die für die Ewigkeit gemacht ist!

Lots to love, lots to be slightly annoyed by. Esee makes an amazing knife (used this with an Esee 6) but the sheath with a little modification is now up to my spec. I hate the stock strap and button snap as it comes from the factory. The tri glide / button combo is a horrendous system in my opinion and not optimal. Luckily, I was able to remedy the situation for cheap. Using a ITW 1 inch Tri glide I cut the lower Molle strap on the rear of the sheath, and used the bottom of the strap with the snap to rig a more optimal retention strap. I’m extremely happy with how it turned out, but I am rather confused as to why it didn’t come this way stock. Removing this lower Molle strap also allows you to remove the knife from the mounting platform (such as a belt) without having to unthread the sheath from your belt or vest I also removed the extra retention strap made from paracord and used milspec 1/4 inch shock cord to make the strap slightly easier to use for my purpose. My only complaint is the retention strap, but with 5 minutes of work I was able to find a solution. So overall would recommend but you’ll likely modify it like mine.

I bough this mainly to use for my Essee 6 and it works well. Glad I baught it. Your knife still remains in it's plastic dare I say or kydex sheat and it is easy to add it to the canvas sheath.
