Great for chopping onions
Easy to use and clean

This is my second one! Love it!
This little chopper is perfect for my needs. I like to chop a large red onion to store in a tight glass container in my fridge so I don't have to do it every day when I make my salad. And I do NOT want minced onion because it gets mushy and doesn't store well for more than a day. This chopper chops it small enough for anything I use it for and the onions last over a week in the fridge. I'd still be using the first one I bought, but I messed up the plastic gasket that does such a great job of cleaning the grid area. Cleaning is simple - all pieces go right in the dishwasher (bottom rack, too!) I don't need a chopper with a ton of accessories that I have no room to store - this one does exactly what I need! Love it!!

Works Well & Quick
The media could not be loaded. The OXO Vegetable Chopper is a great kitchen tool for quick and efficient meal prep. It’s sturdy, easy to use, and saves so much time when dicing veggies. However, for the best results, I recommend cutting vegetables into thinner pieces first to avoid jamming or uneven cuts. Overall, it’s a handy gadget that makes chopping quicker to make dinner faster!

Fantastic and easy
I was given this for Christmas last year and was not sure if I would actually use it. I have had so many different types of choppers, and either they are a pain to clean or they end up actually being difficult to use or something.I wanted it to be easy. I was not sure about this since I did not pick it out myself. It is everything I wanted. It is super easy.Read the directions. They help.In order to clean it all you do is raise the lid and lift it straight off. Then separate the bottom two parts. They seem like they're hard to get apart but practice with it before and you'll see they are super easy. There's also a purple thing that you pull, and it prevents any food getting stuck in the lid.I have developed some little hints that I think work well. I chop the broccoli first because it is the messiest. Everything else after that helps clean all the broccoli off of the chopper.Things like carrots can get stuck but the trick is to put more carrots on top of them which push the first carrots through. Then it's easy.I have not tried onion because I don't care about onion. I have chopped zucchini, carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, and some other vegetables.I make myself vegetable soup every day and I chop enough to last for a few days. I use old (clean!) peanut butter jars to store the chopped vegetables. In the glass jars, the vegetables stay very fresh.I have never washed this in a dishwasher because I don't have a dishwasher but I'm sure this would do very well. It's so nice and such a good value that I ordered three more for gifts. This is the only chopper I have ever used consistently.

OXO Fail
I watch American Test Kitchen and most times their product review panel chooses the OXO brand. I have several OXO pieces in my kitchen artillery so I felt confident adding this one. I have used it twice and although it did the job, its probably easier to just get a good knife and make your cubes. I used it to cut cooked potato for potato salad and pineapple and melon for fruit salad. I had to cut the food pieces into slabs to fit in the chopper before bringing the handle down. It cut fine. But I wanted it to chop onion and tomato. The dice is too large for onions and the blades not sharp enough for tomato. Its not easy to clean but I did figure out that its easier to rinse off if you close the handle piece, rinse, then remove the silicone piece and rinse again. Sorry OXO, I'm not a fan of this product and do not recommend.

Product doesn’t work.
Wanted it specifically for chopping onions. I tried to chop an onion as shown in the ad. A few pieces were chopped mostly from the first layer. Remainder of onion was held by the layers of membrane. Ended with a big mess to remove from the grates. Chopped the remains with my knife. A poor product for me. Would like a refund.
