The perfect three-step ladder
I couldn't find this in my local big box stores when I wanted it. It is the best three-step ladder for household use because it is sturdy, stable, and so light. It is easy to carry upstairs. It is easy to store, meaning you can use one hand to put it back on a wall hook. It has a little area on top for tools and screws. This ladder is the one—the perfect one—for indoor or even occasional outside duties.

Sturdy Steps!
Absolutely love this ladder. It’s lightweight for transporting and very sturdy. Perfect for indoor and outdoor use. We have 9ft ceilings and some higher elevations but the ladder helps make everything reachable. Easy to fold open/shut and has designated hardware to hold tools and paint cans.

Useful, Sturdy & Light Weight
This review is for Rubbermaid 3-Step w/ Oversized Project Tray. I've been looking for a better step ladder to use around the house, and this looked to be the best of all the ones I could find. I've used this ladder multiple times over the near year that I have owned. I'm extremely happy with this ladder. It is very sturdy and amazingly light weight. I really like the project tray, as it is very useful for my projects. Overall, this is one of the best ladders that I have used.

Great all around ladder
I used this for many jobs around the house it is perfect height for most uses and is very light. The platform is steady and makes it easier to work from than ladder steps.

GREAT STEP LADDER, ULTRA LIGHT WEIGHT, PLENTY STRONG TO HOLD MY 180 POUND BODY
I live on a farm in Florida and need to constantly be doing things outside which require a little bit more elevation to reach something. I have a steel 3-step ladder I bought at a local hardware store, it is heavy and a bit unstable due to the way the rear foot is constructed. The heavy weight makes it a drag to carry it around to do small jobs. The instability is also a problem. Finally I went looking for a replacement because I have a bunch of tasks to do this winter on our 5-acre farm. This ladder arrived and I wondered if it was actually in the box, the carton was so light weight. I opened it up and found this step ladder inside. This is a seriously great step ladder. I don't know the weight capacity, if you're 200 or more pounds this is probably too light duty but for average weight people it's a God send. Ultra light in weight, sturdy, easy to fold, convenient tray for tools and parts and a super reasonable price, all factors considered. Good ladders to you!

Narrow steps
Light enough for me to lift and carry with one hand/arm. Love this little ladder except plastic steps feel too narrow for me. I wear womens 9.5 shoe. I don't feel as stable on this step stool compared to my other step stool which has heavy wide steps with treads. Of course heavier wide step stool weighs over 2x the lighter one. I still kept this one for brief tasks like retrieving something on a high shelf that doesn't require repeated stepping up/down. I need the heavy wide step one for things like washing windows and painting.

RMA-3 is a good step ladder with a caveat
Overall, the RMA-3 step ladder is a good product, but there's one thing about it that you should be aware of before purchasing. A couple of other reviewers have mentioned this issue, but I didn't see their reviews before I made my purchase. The locking mechanism that secures the ladder in its "deployed" position is a plastic latch that dangles VERY loosely on the underside of the 3rd step (the large plastic step which you stand on). This doesn't appear to affect the safety of the ladder while using it. When the ladder is deployed, the latch does catch the metal cross bar which supports the black plastic step. Because the latch is loose instead of tight, there will be some "play" on the 3rd step when you're not standing on it. But there doesn't seem to be a danger of the latch accidentally disengaging, so it appears to do its job. Here's what I like about this ladder: * Extremely lightweight and maneuverable * Despite the loose latch, it does feel secure * Perfect height for reaching smoke alarms and light fixtures on a 9 foot ceiling * Very compact when folded up * Folds and unfolds very easily I decided to keep the ladder because I don't believe the loose latch will be a safety issue. When standing on the 3rd step, the weight of the user will be applying downward force against the step and the supporting metal crossbar below, so there is no wobbling of the step while standing on it. And despite its looseness, the latch does appear to keep the 3rd step from disengaging from the cross bar unintentionally. You must apply light upward force on the latch for it to disengage.

Light and just the "right" height!
My old two-rung step ladder weighed a ton compared to this Rubbermaid step ladder. This ladder has three steps, and the convenient plastic holder at the top is magnetic so that nails, etc. don't slip out. This is very handy. I'm 70 years old with back issues, but I'm skinny and this ladder is strong enough to handle my weight well. This ladder is a light as a feather and very sturdy! Thank you, Rubbermaid, for making this ladder.
