As mandolines go this is an excellent choice at its price point. It is very well designed. Sturdy and easy to clean. The blades are very sharp and it slices with ease. I have no problem giving this product 5 stars. The inserts are easily changed. The storage caddy makes it easy to keep things neatly in place. Easy to use, Easy to clean, easy to store. Definitely worth the money. I will update this interview in a year and weigh in on how the blades hold up.

This unit includes a little user manual and was easy to assemble. Based on limited use, this is a handy machine, sturdier than expected and stable on the counter top. The only thing I've made, so far, are french fries. The blades sliced through fresh potatoes right nicely. Allowing for the odd shape of the peeled potato, the fries were uniform in size. The amount of waste at the end mas more than I'd hoped and less than expected. ( a paring knife can finish the job = hash browns.) BTW, the French fries are fast food size ( sorta thin ).I have high hopes for the results on other fruits and veggies, particularly tomatoes and bell peppers.Found the plate / blade sizes by accident. They're rather small and located on the center line to the right of the hole with the plate pointing left, and, of course, it's in mm. Seems that having it marked on the end that protrudes from the caddy would be more convenient. Another plate for thicker French fries would be nice, even as an option, and a "click to fit" or something similar to hold the blades in the caddy would be handy. This isn't meant as a minus, so far as I know, none of the similar mandolins on the site offer either.I'd suggest rinseing it clean immediately, fishing for the parts in a sink of soapy water is an accident waiting to happen, ditto on use without the guard and/or cut resistant gloves.

no instructions come with it. never have used a mandolin and have no clue how to use it!

Works great and makes slicing much easier. Blades are very sharp and limited in what they can do. Gets a little stuck sometimes with harder veggies but over all, very easy to use and clean up is easy.

This mandoline works well if you don't push it too hard. Being made of plastic the wedges flex too much to make thin LARGE slices from potatoes or other harder vegies. That is not to say it does not work fine for 90% of the things I want to slice, but when I tried to make potato and sweet potato chips it was hard get the big slices even. Softer vegies like zucchini are no problem, and cooking a potato some make it work somewhat better.

A serious mandolin with variable blades, it works like a charm. The handle on the end really enhances my sense of control and, therefore, safety. The vegetable-grip is big and offers good control as well. It's a solid, professional-grade tool. The size is not a problem, especially if safety and a quality cut are your priorities.
