Is this radio portable or it needs to be plugged in to work?

This digital radio is NOT portable ... as a matter of fact, it has no speaker system. This radio is designed to work with an existing stereo system and serve as the internet radio tuner. It has both an analog (RCA jacks) and a digital output to drive a stereo through its auxiliary channel. The fidelity of the analog output is okay, however the digital output is downright fantastic! If you have a stereo system that accepts a digital input signal you will be extremely pleased with the clarity of its sound.

Beware: i was very happy with these radios, until all services were discontinued... manufacturer simply forced me buy new ones instead of fixing them?

Qualcomm discontinued service to radios that were manufactured between 2007 and 2017 to the many companies and brands that used their service The service was not managed or controlled by Grace Digital. Grace Digital did not own the code nor did they have the technical or legal ability to fix the 3rd party controlled radios. In order to avoid an issue like this in the future Grace Digital now manages service for any radios made after 2017.

So you don't get any sound on the radio itself?? Can I just hook just speakers to it?

There is no built in speaker, it’s a tuner to connect the internet to a stereo or powered speakers. Grace makes other models with built in speakers like the Grace Mondo Elite Classic. So yes, you can hook speakers to it but they need to be powered speakers.

Has pandora update come yet

I chatted with Grace Digital earlier this week and they said "probably by next week" being the week of Feb 8. I'm less than optimistic of their prediction, considering the the Pandora roll-out for the Grace Link has been pushed multiple times since October of 2020. I'm sure it'll happen sooner or later---we're probably close.
