can you use led lightbulbs? if so what size?

yes you can use LED bulbs . The size needs to be equivalent to a 40 watt.

Can you please tell me where the power cord comes out of the lamp. Is it hidden along the interior tubes of each lamp and one cord out from the base?

Each tube has a cord going down into the base, but there is only one cord that comes out the side of the base (base is about 1.25" high).

Can I purchase replacement shades for the trio tube floor lamp? lamp

The lamps are regular light bulbs, although they limit the recommended wattage so you don't burn the lampshades. We put regular base LED lamps in to save electricity and make sure we didn't have too much heat for the lampshades.

Are the shades similar to a typical fabric lamp shade or are they glass?

shades are light stiff beige plastic inside with beige linen like fabric on the outside. They are nicely finished top and bottom.
