Disappointment
It was an actual VCR that looked nothing like the picture and it came with a remote that has nothing to do with the VCR. It was dusty like somebody had just taken it off their TV stand and put it in the box. Would never suggest another purchase to anybody anybody like this.

First one didn't work, but the replacement one did.
The first one I ordered didn't work, I returned it. A replacement was sent which worked fine. I really wish they'd test things out before shipping them. The first one didn't have bubble wrap but the second one did. Maybe shipping shook things up a bit.

Great for temporary recording
I ordered this VCR because my exact old one that worked for 15 years stopped working. My old remote still worked so I did not used the one that came with the unit. It is great for quick recording of programming that you miss because of other commitments. The VCR is great for programs that you may not need to keep. This unit works fine and is so easy to set up. It is easy to do without the manual. For my purpose I would rate it at least a 4. I hope this unit will last 15 more years too.

Very Happy with Purchase
VCR arrived earlier than expected, and was very well-packaged (thank you). Everything I expected was included - remote, cables, and unit. The seller even threw in a VHS tape! In all honesty, I haven't played it yet - we need a connector to hook it up to our current tv. It does turn on, and from the exterior condition of the unit, I have no doubt that it will work just fine. I would purchase from this seller again. Thanks!

Buying a used VCR wasn't my idea of a good buy, much like buying a used car, but this one was a good buy, the on screen display is really helpful while recording, good buy!
