Generic 3.6V 3600mAh Battery Pack for Sony PSP 1000

I didn't purchase this for the battery itself, but for the circuit board inside. The reason for needing it was because I removed the UMD drive from my PSP to add a huge smartphone battery, and needed a board to solder in to keep the battery from overcharging. This was the cheapest unit I could find, and it has been working great! 5 stars for my application!

short and sweet, they didn't send what they advertised, the battery is clearly labeled in the image at 3600 mAh the battery that I received was labled at 1800 mAh which makes it a standard battery. on top of that, when I charged it and used it through out the day the first time, it turns out that it holds less charge then the battery that I already have. This company is a scam and not worth the money.

I thought I had fried my psp and here the battery was fried. I got this to replace the one in my psp from leaving it on the charger to long too often. it comes loose in my psp so i put a folded up paper in it and works like a charm.

Disclaimer:Personal experience may vary.Performance:I bought this 'Generic 3600mah' and an INSTEN 1200mAh PSP battery for a comparison test.Hands down the INSTEN brand performs a lot better.The INSTEN holds a charge longer and, lasts longer on continuous playing of the PSP.Weight/feel comparison:GENERIC is a lot lighter and feels cheaply manufactured.INSTEN has good weight and sturdy construction.My Suggestion:Go with the INSTEN 1200mah (3.6v) brand.Optional Alternative:If you want ultimate portability and long lasting game play then buy yourself a slim high capacity battery bank and a PSP barrel charger with USB on one side. Attach the battery bank to the back of the PSP and plug in the PSP. The PSP will remain functional until the battery bank runs out (Hours of Play) ;)There are youtube videos on Battery modifications but it removes the UMD drive.---I am in no way affiliated with the INSTEN brand or any of its affiliates.This is simply my honest opinion on which brands I have tried.

As was to be expected, the battery had the life expectancy of a 1800 rather than a 3600, but it's at least working better than my last one when I determined it was time to replace it (about 20 minutes), so I'm not complaining too much, but it does show that I probably would have been better off paying for a battery with a lesser mAh. Knowing that it would likely be a lower lifespan than what should be for these batteries (4 hours is the standard for an official 3600 battery), I timed how long it lasted from a full charge until the PSP shut off at low battery, it shut off at 1 hour & 34 minutes (the PS at 19% left on the battery). Of course I was using an app that uses more battery power than a standard PSP game, which is why I'm giving the rating of 3 stars instead of 2, but with this test it had less than half the lifespan of a battery that "should" be at this mAh (maybe a little more if I was playing an actual PSP game).QUICK ASSESSMENT:It will do what you need if you don't intend on playing more than a couple hours at a time, but I wouldn't suggest paying more for a 3600 PSP battery when it only has a little better battery life than an 1800.Also note that the battery came partially charged, so that could have had an effect on the full battery life as I fully charged it before even using it (possibly even used when I got it, I ordered new).

I was worried that this would be an old battery that wouldn’t hold a charge (like some other reviews had claimed) but I was pleased to see that it works great. It’s works as if it’s a brand new battery that’s been manufactured recently. Would buy from again.

My youngest son had thought about getting this because the old battery for his PlayStation Portable was cracked. So, I ordered it for him. When he got this item, the first thing he did was install it into his PlayStation Portable's battery compartment. Then, he charged it up. So, this means that he will give his PlayStation Portable another chance.

Only took a charge once, only lasted 30 minutes. Didn’t fit in psp case. The door wouldn’t close. Might have been puffed up. Certainly wasn’t correctly rated in capacity.
