Beautiful, neutral, purple-toned brunette tint mask
I love this. I've been using it for years and can't believe I haven't reviewed it until now. I've gotten this small packet and the larger tube, and for some reason I think the small pouch works better. You do have to ignore the directions and leave it on for longer than 5-7 minutes. Damp hair is good, dry hair might be even better, but it is harder to "have enough" when the hair is dry, if you know what I mean. I usually do at least a half hour if not more like an hour. I'll put it on and do some housework/cleaning or whatever then shower to rinse it out. It does make the hair softer which I can attest to with this latest round. Before, I used to use it on my natural brunette hair, and it would give it some depth and oomph when I wanted to refresh. My natural cool light/medium brown lightens and goldens in the sun, especially here in SoCal. So this provides a great return to my roots, with a bit of a deeper/darker tone. This latest round using, I was attempting to remedy a salon balayage situation. I had gone to the hairdresser to get a specific look, not at all blonde. I had said I didn't want to be blonde, I didn't want to be yellow, and showed a picture to the stylist and made sure we were on the same page. Unfortunately, the processes she performed on my hair, made it super blonde, and even after toning it down twice, I did not leave with the hair I had explicitly asked for. Days later, looking in the mirror, I had mostly yellow blonde hair with dark roots. It looked like I had done a blonde process about 4 months ago, and my hair was tattered. I'd been dealing with insane snarls for the past month, feeling washed out every time I looked in the mirror, and overall lamenting my decision to drop hundreds of dollars at the salon for exactly what I didn't want. ANYWAY, all this to say that today, after trimming my hair (I don't think I'll pay for even a haircut for a while now) I applied a pouch of this mask, left it on for about an hour before rinsing it out, and I am loving the results. I can't seem to get a picture that does justice to the reality, but I'll share what I've got, nonetheless. The blonde highlights are still there, especially on the ends, but it's overall much more my style as I feel like a brunette and not a blonde again. I feel like myself. I apologize for not taking a before photo to show the difference. The color is wonderful, because it is not green toned, and it's not red toned. It is purple, neutral purple. It doesn't make hair magenta or anything. It's just a great brown. I personally need this purple tone, because green doesn't work, and red doesn't work. I'm actually confused on my coloring because I have purple veins and green eyes. I think that's why purple works for me, but I think purple can work for most being a neutral tone. If I had had two pouches to work with, I would've started with dry hair and left it on as long as possible. In any case, I am happy with the results and look forward to seeing how it fades as it washes out. It is temporary, but I'm fine with that. I'd rather have to reapply than lament another permanent process. Did I mention I can run my fingers through my hair for the first time in weeks? Amazing.

Simply AH-MAZINGGGG!!! 🤩
My hair: damaged, coarse and bleached. I recently had my hair colored red after being a blonde since 2018. Since I moved to my new home last year, I noticed my hair was feeling harder and looking darker after just one or 2 washes after redoing my hair. I realized my water was the problem so I installed a new filter for my shower head. But my hair was too damaged so I decided to go red and give bleaching my hair a break. But we had to bleach the top, which had been a shadow root to even the entire red color all over my head. But wow that last time of bleaching left my hair soooo damaged and brittle. I’ve never experienced so much breakage. I had been using Olaplex for a few years so my hair was healthy before moving to my new home. So that’s the hair I started with before using this product—hard, brittle, breaking off easily, stiff and rough to the touch and extremely porous. In other words—terrible! My red hair washed out ridiculously fast! This product: after reading many reviews here and watching many YouTube videos, I decided to give this a try. I didn’t want to color my hair again since it’s only been a month since I went red. First, I can’t really afford that and second, I don’t want any more damage. After seeing the copper on most, it was way too much orange for my liking. I wanted a true copper/auburn, not orange. So I mixed (as someone here suggested) 2 copper packs with 1 cocoa color pack. I was so scared to see what would turn out. I mixed them very well in a bowl. I then even distributed it through my hair, piece by piece and combed it through . I left it on for about 10 minutes altogether. And woah! I was blown away by how soft and bouncy my hair felt after all the damaged I had recently experienced. I couldn’t believe it, but not only that, the color looks amazing! I have received so many compliments!! This color combo looks incredible! It’s exactly the color I was going for without the added damage. I haven’t washed it yet so I willl have to update with that information. I plan on purchasing the larger bottles since I absolutely plan on using this long term. What a great way for me to keep my color without causing damage to my hair. I’m so excited I found this and a thank you to the person who suggested mixing these two colors. It works like a charm!! I can’t recommend this enough. 👍🏼👍🏼

Breathes life back into my hair!
I bought this with the hopes it would help lessen the appearance of my grays, which unfortunately seem to be coming it fast and furious. I’ve been dying my hair for a while now and just can’t tolerate the damage and the process I have to go through every couple of months. It’s exhausting! So, this seemed like the best bet. It is relatively easy to apply and left my hair smelling and feeling amazing. It is so soft and shiny. While my grays are definitely still visible, it did seem to tone them down a bit. It also improved the overall appearance of my dull, tired brown hair. So while this doesn’t work on grays as well as dye, it absolutely makes a difference. My natural hair color appears more rich and vibrant with a healthy shine. A good investment if you’re looking for an alternative to expensive, tiring process of coloring your hair. It’s worth a try, and if it doesn’t turn out the way you hope, at least it’s only temporary and won’t leave your hair damaged.

Just meh—I would try DPHue instead
I wanted to share my experience for anyone who was as undecided as I was when I was searching for color glosses and color conditioners. I did a lot of looking at products and reviews and ended up choosing to to try: DPHUE and this Moroccanoil color conditioner. DPHUE was the winner hands down. Even though it says it does not cover gray, I was delighted to find that it DID actually sort of partly stain my very stubborn wiry gray so that it looks a little bit more like highlights. It darkened my very faded light brown hair (that had a little too much red) in a nice rich way. Just a deepening and enriching. But the best part is how shiny and glossy it made my hair. Almost nothing that promises shine and gloss actually works on my hair. I have very fine, very dry, NOT shiny hair—alas. It always looks a bit fuzzy and the only thing that really usually gives it shine is LOTS of oil. I was amazed to find that this product actually did give my hair a little bit of sheen and a really nice soft shiny glossy feeling. I actually kept running my fingers through my hair. And it lasted a really long time (I don’t shampoo every day because my hair is so dry, and after a week it still had that slightly thicker, glossy feeling! I am a believer in this product. And I am so picky about hair products. This Moroccan oil conditioner was a darker brown than the light brown DPHUE and it did stain my hands, where the DPHUE did not. The Moroccanoil did darken my hair but it did not even touch the gray. (I know it says it wont, but so does DPHUE and it did stain the grey) Moreover, I was disappointed that it did not give my hair that shiny glossy smooth feeling at all. I’m glad I just bought a sample pack of this one.

Good stuff!
I wanted to try brunette after doing blonde highlights for years. I'm naturally a dirty blonde/light brown. My hair tends to take color really well. Based off comments I put it on dry, clean hair (washed the day prior) and let it sit for 10 minutes. In the shower I got it wet and really scrunched it throughout because I was worried my thick hair didn't get fully covered and this seemed to help lather it throughout. I really like how it turned out. I'm now 3 weeks in and the color has lightened but it's staying very well. I wash my hair on average every 5 days. There is certainly a purple tent on the strands that were previously highlighted but it's a pretty deep purple. My hair tends to take to purples, I can't use purple conditioners when I do wear it blonde. Overall I highly recommend this mask. I went ahead and bought the large bottle for when this washes out.

Overpowering scent, Underwhelming color
I have light brown hair that I highlight with Sun-in. I hoped my highlights would be light enough to pick up the color in the Rose Gold mask, but no luck. I can maybe see the tiniest shimmer of pink when the light hits my hair *just right*, but overall my hair appears unchanged other than the highlights are now darker than they were (boooooo!). Additionally, the scent is extremely overpowering. I'm very sensitive to scents and this one was WAY TOO MUCH. I had to turn an air purifier on max speed and leave it running in my bathroom for HOURS after I finished to even make a dent in the lingering odor. Seriously, if you are at all sensitive to scents, I highly advise you pass on this product. The smell lingered in my hair so much that once I dried it and realized you couldn't see the color, I got back in the shower and shampooed it out because the smell was making me sick! And my husband, who I jokingly call "nose blind" because he rarely smells anything, even commented on it when he entered the bathroom afterwards. Believe me, if he can smell it, the scent is STRONG. For me this was a giant waste of time and money. All I got out of it was darker hair and a headache from the odor. PASS! The mask is very moisturizing and my hair came out super soft, which is the only good thing I can say about this product. Update - after shampooing my hair 4 times, the odor of this product remains. It's making me crazy. Stay away if you are sensitive to scents or have MCS!

Hair rescue
I had too big and too light of a highlight in the front- too much of a "moneypiece". I got another color corrector which turned my hair orange instead. After some tears I ordered this. It blended beautifully with my hair, stays well, and makes my hair so soft. Highly recommend. It doesn't completely cover my greys but helps mask them well enough that I'm going to delay my next full color appointment.
