Would this work to capture video from my dslr (Canon 60D HDMI) into my Surface pro 3? Thanks!

This works great with my Canon EOS T6i. So I imagine it would also work just as well with the 60D. Of course I have to turn off all the menu items on the camera display.

Will this device allow me to grab individual frames from a blu ray player and create a digital file of the image that i have freeze-framed?

The problem arises not surrounding whether or not you will be able to freeze frame something and see it, the problem starts when you plug your Blu Ray player into the StarTech. HDMI has something called HDCP which is basically an encryption between the blu ray and the Television. When I tested my blu ray, I was always getting errors about HDCP encryption failure. Nothing wrong with the product but just a security measure so people cant rip videos on to their computers. Long story short, I would make sure you can find a HDMI capture system that is HDCP enabled or if for some reason your specific blu ray player happens to work then yes thats a possibility.

Will it record from dish network receiver?

Yes. If your Dish receiver has an HDMI output then you simply plug it into this device whereupon your USB3 cable should connect to your computer.Understand that I did not test or perform this on my system but it is advertised to work this way.

Is there a delay on the live capture? el gato hd has a 2-3 second delay.

HiThere is a nano second delay with this device. Definitely not 2-3 seconds. Hope this helps.

Great for displaying and capturing Yaesu FTDX10 video output on your PC.

Yaesu FTDX10 video output requires using a DVI monitor. There are many online postings of people having problems using DVI to HDMI converters with their radio, breaking something, and needing to send their radio out for repair. So far, this item has solved that problem for me and has also allowed me to save space on my desk by removing a monitor from my desk. I can now display my radio's screen on my PC along with my FT8 applications. The item was plug and play with Win10, works with OBS, and works perfectly. Good luck and hopefully this helps others who are looking for a similar solution. 73.

Works great.

Low enough latency to play pretty much anything but FPS through the Streamcatcher software preview. Also works perfectly well with OBS.

Works well

I found the unit to do a good job of digitizing old VHS videos using the S-Video input. Other cheaper units that I tried had timing problems that ultimately proved to be a problem with the capture device. This device is more expensive but worth it.The supplied software is easy to use and appears to work well.

Genau was ich erwartet habe!

Ich habe dieses Gerät für einen Kunden gekauft.Live Bilder eines Ultraschallgerätes sollen über DVI an den PC gesendet, und über Fußtaster ein Snapshot gemacht werden. Die Bilder werden dann über ein Programm dem Patienten zugeordnet.Der LIve mittschnitt funktioniert tadelllos ohne Probleme, seit 3 Wochen im Dauertest.Die beigelegte CD wegwerfen und direkt auf der Hompage den Treiber downloaden. Wenn die LED Blau ist, ist alles korrekt Installiert und der Grapper einsatzbereit.Wichtig ist eine USB 3.0 Verbindung am PC. Die Software ist Schrott.Ich habe mich für Debut Video entschieden.... für mich die beste Software und voll kompatibel !!HDMI und DVI möglich sowie Compsite Video und S Video mittels AV Adapter (liegt bei).Empfehlung!UpdateNach 1 Jahr Dauerbetrieb immer noch alles okey
