Hammonds Biobor JF, Diesel Fuel Biocide - 32oz

excellent diesel additive, highly reviewed, works as expected

One of our tractors kept getting milky looking hydraulic oil, even after multiple hydraulic oil changes. I added one half of an ounce of Biobor JF to the 15 gallon hydraulic system when I changed the oil last time and the issue has not returned! Before adding Biobor JF, the hydraulic oil was growing algae and plugging up the filters, usually in just a few months and very few hours. It's been over a year since I added Biobor JF and the hydraulic oil still looks perfect! Hydraulic oil and new filters are expensive. Biobor JF has saved me a lot of $ in fluid and filters already, not to mention the time and headache of having to change it before it should be due!

Small amount needed for a full tank so should last a long time. Hard to say if it works, better safe than sorry. My truck is only occasionally driven so fuel sits in the tank a long time. Algae growing in the tank would clog the fuel system and be an expensive repair.

I have a fair amount of experience with marine diesels and this additive is absolutely essential in my opinion for your diesel fuel. In fact, I consider it essential in all diesel fuel regardless of what the engine is powering on land or water. It kills the micro-organisms that turn into a slimy, snotty, blob usually associated with water or condensation build up that could be growing in your fuel tank that your unaware of untill it's too late. With plugged up fuel filters, injection pump, or worse, it could be a very expensive repair or a least a major inconvenience at the worst possible time. Biobor takes care of that. The nice thing is it doesn't take much, a little goes a long way. I have used it at every fuel up for over 28 years and have never had a fuel related problem with any of my diesel engines on land or water. Just service your fuel filters regularly and you're good to go. Pretty cheap insurance if you ask me.

Started using this because the inside of my 125gal tanks on my Freightliner Columbia is contaminated with black algae. I've giving it the shock dose which is 3oz per 125gal. I can see the black speck in the filter floating around so it's working. The filter getting black as well. I think I just need to have my tanks steamed out. Also I'm not 💯% sure but my truck idle is not as smooth as it used to be since adding this. I'll update this once I'm sure.
