UPDATE on 5/13: I reached out to Sparkel directly to replace my defective lid, they responded promptly and mailed a new lid to replace the defective one at no cost. Very satisfied. I LOVE my sparkel machine, ordered two extra bottles so we could have backup carbonated water at the ready in the fridge. The bottle that came with the machine and one of the two extra bottles I ordered keep the water carbonated for several days. So Handy! Alas, one of the two bottle that came in the two pack of extra bottles I ordered does not properly hold a seal. After taking the bottle off the machine you can hear a slight leak of air pressure from the pressure valve at the top of the one bottle. Within an hour or so the bottle with the air leak is flat and contains no carbonation. Alas, I didn't realize this immediately. By the time I noticed the problem, I was past the return date. So sad :( Can't justify buying two new bottles to replace one that doesn't work. Be sure to check your bottles for this problem promptly after receipt.

The sparkel machine solves my problem of hydrating without drinking boring water. It's absolutely delicious! I love it so much that I bought 2 more bottles which gives me five in total. I never have to run out on a hot day!

I love my Sparkel carbonation system! These bottles work great and my latest purchase of them looks like they updated the molds (from the one I got with the machine) to have the top lid gasket seal better/stay in place. The only thing that is a little annoying is when the bottle "sweats" from the humidity in the air and then pools in the lower groove between the bottle and the lower seal. When you go to drink it if you are not careful it will dribble the collected condensation onto you from that groove. Eliminating this gap would be a great improvement; I do not know if this limitation is due to the injection molding process but would be a great improvement if changed. All around still very happy with this system.

When I first received bottles, I only carbonated plain water to test if they leaked (some reviewers had experienced). Both bottles started badly leaking water from the bottom as it carbonated. I unscrewed bottles and retightened, tried again and both were fine! Having extra bottles ready to drink is great as one bottles only fills two large glasses. It also allows me to switch up the flavours: mango, lemon & lychee, raspberry…anything! I love that I can control the level of sweetness. I also found that I can buy the citric acid and baking soda in bulk to save money. A scant tablespoon of baking soda to a level tablespoon of citric acid works perfectly on level 4 setting. The way we go thru it, another set of extra bottles will be needed especially in hot summer! The Sparkel is a great product! Highly recommend!
