Awesome little fan! Highly recommended!
I bought two of these fans and was a bit worried because of the negative reviews. I am so glad I did take a chance and purchased these. I bought them to use on my children's stroller when we go out or go to Disney. Living here in Florida can get very hot so I wanted something that would keep my little ones comfortable. I had bought two kid fans before and my children easily broke off the blades since they were made of foam. Cool on the Go fans have resolved this problem since there are no blades they can break (fan is enclosed in the unit.....safe for little fingers). Not only that, the air it blows is so much better that those other children's fans. Cool on the Go uses 4 AA batteries. I use 2000mah rechargeable batteries and they last about 2 1/2-3 hours. The fan also comes with a USB cord which you can plug into your computer or even a battery pack. I sometimes plug it to a 5000 mah battery pack and it lasts about 6 1/2 hours! You can also plug it to the wall. Sometimes I even use it for myself when I am working on my computer. I will probably end up buying one more for myself so I do not have to steal it from my children. :-)Please keep in mind that these are cooling fan and not air conditioners so don't expect that the air coming out is going to be very cold. In comparison to other portable battery operated fans that are on the market Cool on the Go is way better and will blow more air.

Nice and cool but battery compartment seems to have flaws.
I was just looking for something to cool me down during my commute on the bus. This turned out to be somewhat of a gem -- until it stopped working. The little piece that allows the batteries to stay secure broke off in two places and now the batteries won't stay in nor can they connect to get the power going. I can't see myself paying for another one. Afraid to purchase it again seems to be flawed -- little steel pieces are not secure enough to stay in place or maybe mine was just defective. Sure had a cool air punch to it that was so welcome. BTW this does comes with an electrical power cord. I can still use it, but not for it's intended purpose. Last thing--if you purchase this use rechargeable batteries.

It is wonderful, powerful for a portable battery operated unit
It is wonderful, powerful for a portable battery operated unit, the adjustable angles make it so versatile. Also variable fan speed. I use it mostly as a stand fan pointed at my face, as that is a great way to keep me cool thru this hot summer. On the upper arm, it does feel a little bulky. Comes with an 18 inch velcro strap. Make sure your sleeve is loose enough to fit the fan under. You get cool air on one side, and if you use 4 batteries, you really feel the weight on that one arm. So if you use it this way, the cord is definitely better with a battery bank. Maybe they will come up with a built-in lightweight rechargeable battery that lasts at least 4 or 6 hours so you don't have to deal with a cord while swinging your arms, like when jogging. When blowing up the shirt from the waist, you don't feel the extra weight like when used on one arm. This is my second favorite way to use it. Works well at work, where I do a lot of walking. Allows up to maybe a 1.4 inch belt, not too thick, or you can flip the stand out and use that to pinch over your waistband, it has some textured plastic parts to grip on your jeans. However, if you have like nice shorts with no belt, made of mesh or delicate material, it might snag it. Put a piece of material in the clip to keep the textured part away from you shorts, and find something to use via the belt method. It doesn't come with a large velcro strap for your waist, but you could find a reasonable alternative in your belt collection or maybe the craft store, or even use the approx 34 inch adjustable neck strap if you are not too large around the middle.Which brings me to the around the neck method. I am pretty active, so I don't use this method much. You just slip the neck strap in the belt loops. It moves too much when jogging, hits you on the chest. Might be okay for a slow, casual walk. This way is best used for say sitting at a sporting event, at the park, or maybe at your desk.Sorry so long, but that says a lot for a versatile item. The only other thing I wish was different is if the larger part of the clip was solid, not like an arch, so it would keep the textured part away from delicate material when using the belt method. Yeah, you could flip the clip down, but you'll have problems when sitting down, unless you have it on your side. I prefer to use it in front, where the cooling in more centralized. Most pants have belt loops, which prevent moving it to the side easily without unbuckling your belt. Thanks for reading my review.

Don't waste your money
This little fan worked great, for about 90 minutes. Then it died, very quietly and peacefully. What a piece of junk. Back it goes. I just bought a USB powered plain desktop fan as a replacement that will do the same thing this does, for about a third of the price of this thing. Maybe I got a lemon, but I won't try it again. All it does is move the air - which a regular fan will do, much cheaper. If you're just looking for something that gives you a cool breeze, just buy a regular desktop fan. It will do the same thing this does. By the way, it was almost impossible to get the batteries into the battery compartment. It's too small to really place them properly, which is why I was running it off the USB cord. Like I said, what a piece of junk.
