Very good cable for streaming music compared to Wi-Fi
I used this 50 ft. cat 8 cable to connect my bell HH3000 directly to my Dell Latitude E5410 Lap top in order to provide a 1Gbps connection for streaming hi-rse audio. The computer provided a ground for the cable at one end as that is important accordig to LinkUp tech whom you can email about the possible attenna situation. The cable is rugged enough to run under the floor in my case through the garage under my listening room. The cable is stiff because of the sheilding but nothing you can't deal with during installation and use.How does it sound? Well with a 300mb/s wi-fi connection the first 3 to 5 sec.of even 16/44.1 cd quality music stream was crackly and even after that cleared up the music seemed rather thin and uninvolving. With the ethernet 1Gbps connection the music started more quickly and perfectly clear and the rest of the stream was now full bodied. The music using the LinkUp cable has much more detail even compared to the cat 6 flat cable I tried from Walmart, no dought due to the twisted quad solid core wires. I don't know how an audiophile cable would compare, however a middle of the road Audioquest cable Cat 7 with 1.25% silver conductors will run you about $600.00 for 39 ft and their 100% silver Cat 7 is $15,000.00 for the same length. This cable was $207.00 taxes in and well worth the investment, not just in dollars but also in the installation time. I could get into what stereo system I'm using it with but I'm not but I do have 30 large in equipment which is just a drop in the bucket on a scale of one to ten.The reason I mention this is to give people an Idea of what this Cat 8 shieled cable is capable of doing for you in your system. Happy Listening Larry.
