While it might be laminate, for the price, it’s shipped from Turkey and is a fine, functional piece that looks the part. The dice are small but accurate and fit the board. My board came damaged but a message to the seller quickly remedied the situation. Very happy with my experience.

Gorgeous board, high quality, wooden. The chips are plasticky but look really good with the board, and I like them. The dice is small but that's what people in the Balkans use it's not a plot to be cheap with them. You can buy better ones if important for you and still save yourself a ton for the quality of this board. Yes, the other reviewers are right - the packaging is weak. They just threw it in a bigger box with no padding. Board was unharmed though, so all good. Overall, I took a risk with this and it paid off well for me. I wanted a wooden one and this looked unbeatable for the price, and it is. Very satisfied!

The set is made of wood with decals inside and out. The pictures in the advertising are beautiful, if you keep the set you want to avoid scratching the decals which is unrealistic The advertising appears to be wood inlays Also it claims to have magnets to keep the set closed, the set that arrived only has a magnet on one side and won't remain closed It doesn't have dice holders, the four dice that were included are very very small and could be easily lost, I'll be returning this set

Great quality backgammon set. Beautiful case.

This is a beautiful set. However, there are no storage slots for the pips. I guess, when you take a pip home, you just lay it on a table or something, I don't know. They come in a plastic bag. Once it is opened, the pips just slide around the inside of the box. Also, It is held shut by two very weak magnets and can come open easily. This set is best kept in one place and not carried around anywhere. There is no handle to carry it by, anyway. But, that's not all. It came with no papework of any kind; no instructions, no setup diagrams ... nothing. Overall, I give it a 3 out of 5.

This backgammon is absolutely beautiful. I love the board and the design. I think it is well worth the investment. The dices are too small for the board. I think the dices should be a little bigger.👌

I have nothing but nice things to say about the board and pieces. Quality job all round. The dice on the other hand. Worth buying just to see how small dice can be constructed. I recommend buying proper dice.

Too bulky to travel but fine as a home game.

It's a nice looking product but not for travelling. The dice are too small but I bought bigger ones from Dollar store. No shaker unfortunately and no storage slots for checkers. I understand that in the Middle East they use small dice and no shaker but storage slots are definitely missing.
