Wonderful No Shell Pistachios (24 oz.), Basic

I was hesitant to buy these pistachios due to all the reviews claiming that they are "burned." After eating half the bag so far, I can categorically say that these pistachios are NOT burned, but about half of the pistachios are very well-roasted. Think of roasted peanuts. When peanuts are under-roasted, they taste "raw" with a bright white interior color and a slightly chewy texture, with a distinctly "beany" flavor. When they are very well-roasted, they are darker, even brown throughout, with a strong nutty, earthy flavor. I personally like peanuts that are well-roasted. I do NOT like burned peanuts, which are very dark brown and have that characteristic charred or burnt taste.Rest assured that none of these pistachios are actually burned or have any burnt taste, whatsoever. At least not the half pound or so I have eaten thus far. But a good proportion of them are very well-roasted. I personally love them that way.

I've never been a Pistachio fan per se, but in trying to eat healthy I thought I'd give this bag a try. The Pistachios are excellent, and it's really nice that they are shelled and lightly salted. Very good healthy snack, however after a while I started to see what others complained about. There are some "bad nuts" for lack of a better term, I'm not sure if they're burnt, stale, or what but I've kinda stopped eating them halfway through the bag. Still giving 4 stars at least I don't need top open them one at a time and get a "bad nut"

I personally hate hate hate shelling pistachios, though some people like the "cracking" experience. When you purchase these, I believe you get more for the money. As far as taste, if you have never tried Wonderful pistachios, I would definitely put them in the upper echelon of brands. Just the right amount of salt, very filling, the 24oz bag lasts my wife and I about a month and a half, eating a few servings every other day. If you want to pay the extra price, I recommend these. They would be 5 stars if they were cheaper. Otherwise, perfect product.

My friend loves pistachios and since I make my own trail mix, I decided to make a gift of it adding the pistachios to the mix just for him. He loved the trail mix and when asked specifically about the taste of the pistachios, he said "perfect"! The only reason I gave the product 4 stars is because of the cost factor but since they come shelled perhaps that is the reason for why they are costly.

These pistachios are great. I have rated them only four stars for flavor and freshness because they seemed a little less tender than ones I bought in the supermarket, but it's possible that was just a difference in the batches. These are a commodity product, so if you get the same nuts for a lower price, it's hard to go wrong.

These pistachios are very good. I did not give 5 starts because a few of the nuts were burnt tasting, as often happens with this type of nut. I don't plan to go back to nuts in the shell again. Why go to all that work?

I keep this bag of goodies in my room and my father would frequently come in to steal them.
