Read many reviews about this flashlight, it is awesome, who would like to tell me how the flashlight perform in pet urine stain detection?

These filtered lights work reasonably well at finding MY cats urine stains, and they are certainly better than the really cheap unfiltered LED lights that require you to wear yellow or orange glasses to see the stains. Nevertheless, depending on what they are peeing on, it still might be hard to find the spots. Not that you asked, but they also allow you to see every single place they ever vomited...

Can you easily switch from UV mode to regular mode? Or do you have to remove the uv lens first?

There is no Switching.... This is UV Only. It has a UV LED along with a UV Pass filter to limit it's output in the visual range (the Frequency that LED's are labeled as are where their peak output is, with light output going a good ways to either side of the peak which is why we can still see IR led's that are 850 or even 940nm), So this won't put out white light. Also this light gets very warm during use because the filter is absorbing a good bit of the output from the LED. That being said I really do like this Light and the extra filter makes a big difference in keeping it outside the human visual spectrum.

How well does it work when verifying gemstones?

Have not used in that application however when cleaning the inside of a scanning electron microscope and looking for contamination I am able to see dust and partials clearly as with a regular flash light I can’t see dust with any distinction.

You could. Some minerals will glow.
