Q: how does in secure into a surface mounted box?

Fitted by electrician.. I didn't think it would fit in metal wall box, so bought a shallow extension box - that wasn't used but it was a real guddle finishing it off - thankfully it was only in a cupboard so looks are not all.

Q: Will this work on a 2 way circuit, like a set of stairs. If i replace both switches with these?

Don’t bother with these. The one I got was faulty. Even got an electrician to install in the need and ended up wasting time and money cause the sensor didn’t work.

Q: Is there a wall box in the uk that fits this correctly? Tried to replace a light switch and this unit is too deep but also too narrow

I sent mine back for just that reason. It's far too deep and hence only suitable for mounting in plasterboard with plenty of space behind.
