False Description
The description is misleading. I should have known for this price that this would not be pure copper conductor and 12 gauge. The product is CCA or copper clad aluminum. You can tell that it is CCA by the corrosion occurring on the wire as well as a silvery sheen in the core of each strand when it is cut. My klein wire stripper measures this wire at about 18 gauge which is about 1/4 the cross-sectional area of a 12 gauge wire.I attached a photo so you can see for yourself. On one side, there are four wires. They are 12, 14, 16, and 18 gauge copper wire, in order. The other side has two strands of this speaker wire. It appears to be about 16 gauge in the photo, but I assure you it is closer to 18. You can also see that the copper is beginning to darken in this wire as a result of corrosion of the underlying aluminum.Overall, this wire is of very low quality. The description is either totally false, or I got the wrong product. I'm leaning towards false description. This wire would be suitable for a radio at work or some very cheap speakers. If this product were 18 gauge and pure copper or if it were 12 gauge and CCA, I could accept it. The combination of lower than advertised material and below advertised diameter make this unusable in my book.

False misleading description
I would not recommend purchasing from this person.I just got my item today, and it was nothing of what it claims to be in the description. Ofc wire is untouched copper. This wire I just got u can see corrosion from the clad aluminum mixture. I'm an audio head and have been doing this for 15 years. And I can provide pictures of what I received and what I should have. When you see a low price like this and you think its too good to be true, well it really is. Not happy at all. I was expecting quality wire and got the exact opposite. I hope amazon takes action against this.
