Fantastic Unit, Super Quiet, Easy to Install
We purchased this RecPro by Houghton based on a you tube recommendation because our factory installed Furrion unit was so loud that we couldn’t sleep.(One full on fan speed when using the cool setting.)I could not be more pleased with the RecPro unit. Not only does it have multiple A/C fan speeds but it’s also remotely controlled so no getting up out of bed to make comfort changes. The installation was as simple as they get so ignore the reviews that complain about the instructions. (Full disclosure, I am a trained mechanic and a semi retired Home Repair Business owner, but someone with average man skills shouldn’t find installing this too challenging.) The manual is written very well and easy to understand. I had the old unit out and the RecPro installed and running in less than 2 hours. The unit operates perfectly, Cools our small RV every bit as well as the Furrion unit did, and is a full 20 decibels quieter than the factory unit.Customer service was very polite and quick to resolve our only issue which resulted from FedEx playing Rugby with the package. The unit was packed extremely well with at least 3” of packing between the inner and outer box and no visible damage to the outer carton. Somehow FedEx managed to crack the lower shroud in 2 places. RecPro customer service took care of us once I sent them pictures of the damage and have been great communicators throughout. ( Thanks to Jane and Natalie @ Rec Pro)If a quieter comfort system is what you need, I highly recommend this unit.

great product, cools great
I had the near identical predecessor to this called an Atwood AirCommand. That one suffered an early death so I wanted a new one, but they were replaced by the RecPro. This one is nearly the same but has some refinements that made it better. I wanted a A/c that could run on a 2200 watt generator, but I added a Softstart as well. This unit cools very well in 99 degree hot summer days in SoCal in direct sun. Cools my 1976 23' GMC motorhome quite well. I am not sure how it would do in a humid location that gets equally hot, though I am sure a 15k would be better. This 13k handles a 1800/2200 peak generator just fine, with the softstart, but I am told it will work without too? Its quiet and i dont hear the compressor at all. Just the fan! I like that it has a thermostat so its not running constantly and will keep a temperature. It is easy to install with just four bolts to clamp to the roof and the inside bracket. The plenum comes with it, unlike the Atwood which was sold separate.

Big quality for a small price it’s a must have replacement for your a/c unit
I ordered two of these to replace my brisk a/c on my class a motor home, the install was quick and fairly easy. The unit only has the 3wires hot, ground and neutral. My old unit had several more in a connector power, thermostat and 12v. So figuring out which were necessary was small challenge ( effected the lights when 12v was disconnected). So make sure your 12v gets reconnected. It took me about an hour and a half to install both and 15 minutes to figure out the 12v side. They are super quiet, temp is displayed on the unit. Overall it’s a must have for replacing your old unit.Update I’ve had them running for 2 1/2 months here in KeyWest now and they are preforming flawlessly I can’t say enough good things about this A/C unit

Best investment I’ve made and I’ve worked on RVs for 35 years
I wasn’t sure about the AC. I’ve never used this brand. It’s always been duo therm or Coleman AC units I got it yesterday installed it. It took more time to get it on the roof than it did to install it. I love the fact that it was only three wires that had to be hooked up. I had to remove all the other wires that I had and put them out of the way all in all it was probably about two hours sat down. Read the directions don’t work the remote because my trailer was 98° inside. I set it on 64 and let it run all afternoon and all night we had blankets on not set on 73 and it’s still cold in the house. I highly recommend this. It’s an easy install. It works fantastic. You cannot even hardly hear the air conditioner run and the price was really good.

Not for humid regions. Should be banned in Florida
I bought this AC as a replacement for a 12 year old Coleman Mach series. The Recpro was easy to install. That’s the good part. The biggest problem with this AC is that it’s a humidity generator. Largely due to the fan staying on after the compressor cycles off. This dumps the moisture from the melting frost off of the evaporator into your RV. In moist climates you should never leave your fan running when the compressor cycles off. This unit is only good in arid regions. No way to turn the fan off with the compressor. Also, the remote is a pain. You have to point the remote directly at the unit to change functions. If you are too far away, it will not work. No way to use a conventional wired thermostat. The unit is only minimally quieter than the Coleman I removed. Not happy with this unit. If you live in a humid region, don’t buy this AC unit.Update: Well the Recpro only lasted just over 2 years. Though I’m kind of happy about it. I switched back to Coleman and couldn’t be happier. RV is much dryer inside. Goodbye humidity generator. Time to start cleaning up the mildew. What a waste of time and money.

Works well
Unit works as expected. Cools well. Fairly easy install, however, it DOES come with the gasket between the unit and the roof. Amazon will recommend ordering that separately, but it is not needed since it comes with the unit.

A lot of work
This unit took a lot longer to install than stated in the information.i watched several videos on this installation and that helped more than the instructions. It a tight fit in the hole that the instructions stated but it works I installed the unit in a utility travel that has been converted to an rv. Once installed it didn’t work I took off the inside cover and turned the plug in connection to the remote sending unit around opposite of the installation and it fired up much to my relief. I do recommend the uni it has good air flow and very quiet it cools great. After looking over the ac it seems to be well made with quality parts. It hasn’t run long enough to see it’s going to remove the humidity as that is important to me as I live in South Georgia. But once again I do recommend just go slow and I think you will be satisfied
