Q: Can this be made appropriate for a wider age range by removing a few cards, or are the “adult” cards necessary for game play?

I don't know if they are absolutely necessary, but you do have to remove A BUNCH of them to make it kid friendly. I bought a pack of blank playing cards (just do a search on amazon, they aren't hard to find) -- I'm going to let students make some of their own, or maybe get some teachers together to make a game of creating some appropriate replacements. ...That might even be a fun twist for kids where people could write in their responses and you could keep/acquire the best student/child additions? Just a thought. I wish they made this kid friendly.

Q: How many cards would I have to remove before I could allow my high school students to play this at school?

That is a valid concern anything you would deem as inappropriate should be taken out. The are card referring to debacherous and subjects that would be unfit for even high school students just use you own best judgement here. If it is as bad and offensive as a cards against humanity card take it out.

Q: Is this game more appropriate than Cards Against Humanity?

In terms of language used? Yes - I don't think there's any adult language in any of the cards. But the rest depends on your play group's sense of humor.

Q: Can you play with 2 people?

Technically no. However, you could use the cards and graphs with only two people. You could pick a "graph" and then both choose a card from your hand that fits. It could be entertaining but not as fun as playing the game with multiple people as intended. We have found that 5 or more is ideal.
