The Adventures of Young Nicholas, Part 1 (Nicholas of Myra: The Story of Saint Nicholas)

This is well written story of the St. Nicholas, before he was a bishop or became known as a saint or then Santa Claus. I would recommend this story for children-adults age 5 and up; as my daughter who is 3 loved the pictures, but didn't fully understand the text. The story is told in a way that children can understand, and in a way that held all of our attention. Though it is a picture book, this is really a story that needs to be read by an older child (7 and up) if they are to read on their own, as there is alot of text per page. The book was easy to follow, and flows easily. I am so happy with this purchase, and would recommend it to anyone, as a wonderful addition to their Christmas library; or just as an interesting historical book for kids (and adults too, as I was just as interested in the story!)

I thought it was going to be a nice book to read to children but it was more like a fundraising ad for the movie. I wanted to help out and hoped the movie would com out by Dec 6 for St. Nicholas' feast day this year. I wish them the best with their movie production. I know it is very tough to finance and produce a good movie and that it takes lots and lots of time. It looks like they have a really good concept and I hope it comes out by this time next year!

The content did not match what I ordered. A 46-page book entitled, "Hello Brain," by Clarissa Johnson, was printed inside the cover of "Nicholas of Myra." I have returned the book for a refund.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Eagerly look forward to future publication. It's very entertaining with a good moral. Great reading for the family.

Very well written. True spirited. After reading the first part, I am anxiously awaiting the release of Part 2 and can't wait for the movie!!!

A story within a story in which both make you stop and think about how you treat others. Every child can relate to each character in their lives today. Well written for all ages, this book gives the reader the expression needed to convey the message of both stories. To do the right thing and be considerate of others isn't always the popular thing to do, but it can be.

Excellent story makes a point that what some see as a limitation or weakness can actually be an advantage a strength. It also teaches children that it's in their best interest to not judge others but to befriend them despite their difference because the difference could very well be in their best interest later in life.
