Just my opinion man
Ok so I never do reviews but this is a great baby gate. Very easy to install if you follow the directions. I bought 2 of them. One needed the extension added and the other didn’t so I got to set it up both ways. The green and red indicator by the latch is a great idea and allows you to make sure it is installed correctly. Also the easiest baby gate to operate by far. I’ve dealt with some that were unnecessarily difficult to open. This is easily opened with one hand. The height is great and it’s very sturdy but I’m also only 5’6” The ability to make it swing open either way is convenient but also to be able to make it one direction is ideal for stairs.

Great baby or pet gate!
Works very well. Sturdy, tall, and has multiple widths. Easy to install and doesn’t damage walls. Very happy with this purchase. Worked for both dog and baby!

Easy to Install and Sturdy – Great for Kids or Pets!”
This gate was exactly what I needed—it’s easy to install and feels very secure once in place. I used it between a 36-inch doorway, and it fit snugly with no drilling required, which was a huge plus. The pressure-mount system is convenient and doesn’t damage walls, but still holds firm even with regular use.The walk-through door swings easily and latches securely, which is especially helpful when your hands are full. It’s also tall enough (28 inches) to deter toddlers or small pets from trying to climb over. The neutral design blends in well with my home, and the quality feels solid—not flimsy or cheap. Whether you’re using it for child safety or pet containment, it’s a reliable and budget-friendly option.✅ Fast, tool-free setup✅ Secure, smooth walk-through door✅ Works well in spaces 29"–38" wideHighly recommend if you’re looking for a no-fuss, dependable safety gate!

Sturdy, great price
This gate works great, sturdy, and easy to install. 4 stars only because I wish it was stated more clearly on here to not install at stairs as that was the whole reason I bought it. There is a warning label not to place on stairs in the packaging. I used it in a different door way and it works well.

Secure, Sturdy, and Surprisingly Easy to Install — Perfect for Pets
I’ve tried a few baby/pet gates over the years, and this one from Safety 1st hits the sweet spot of being both functional and frustration-free. The extra width and height give me peace of mind when it comes to keeping our large dog safely confined. It fits wider openings with ease and stands tall enough to deter even the most determined climbers.Installation was quick—no drilling required—and the pressure mounts didn’t damage the walls. The gate itself feels solid and well-built. The walk-through door swings smoothly and closes with a secure latch that clicks in place. If you need a gate that combines safety, size, and simplicity, this one’s a clear winner.

None of them have proven practical and useful and/or have held up for what I consider
UPDATE, 3/09/17:I have now had and used this product long enough to update my prior review and I want to do so even though my prior review was "excellent." First, I confirm that the product is, indeed "excellent." Next I note that some features which I either had not thought were included, or which I thought I'd have to become accustomed to using, either are actually there or took a very minimal time to get used to. The gate works smoothly and can be shut without effort. We use it numerous times a day and it has not even needed to be adjusted, even though we let it kind of slam shut.We will be moving shortly and it is likely that we will need one or more additional gates. I will absolutely purchase the same one(s)! In fact, if were sure as to what I'll need, especially the sizes, I'd make the purchase now just in case they become unavailable for whatever reason. The following remarks are what I wrote when I published my review the first time: Over the almost 50 years of married life, I feel as if I've purchased every type and make of gates, to use for children, grandchildren and pets. None of them have proven practical and useful and/or have held up for what I consider a reasonable length of time, and many were far more costly Most of them had "weak"spots which broke. I installed this one 4 days ago. It seems quite durable. At least I don't see any potential "weak" spots. For me, the only downside is the latch operation. It appears to close tightly, which, of course, is a very positive feature. I like the options offered. You can set it up to swing open either or both ways, and there's a latch at the bottom that controls your opening and latching options, and serves as an additional locking feature. However I find it very difficult to unlock/open one handed as two things have to be pressed simultaneously. This is especially problematic if you are carrying anything, which we virtually always are, as only one hand is free. I am practicing using one hand and, hopefully, will later be able to do so more easily. I have another gate which only has one latch to press and the gate swings closed. However that has its pros and cons: easier to open and lock but the lock is not as secure and, if I am carrying something, I have to rush to get through before it swings closed. The double latching requirements make this one much harder for little ones to operate, but for now also harder for me. I'm not concerned about our little Yorkie, smart as she is, learning how to unlock it! So I highly recommend it if little ones are around and l suspect I will do the same, with more practice, if purchased just for pets. I don't know how well it would withstand a big Lab, etc., but I suspect it would, and only time and use will tell for sure if its durability surpasses my experiences with other gates.

A well made gate that works as advertised!
This is a great gate that installs easy and is adjustable to widths up to its maximum 38" width. It's open/close latch also works much better than other gates we have used.

How to keep a dog out of a music studio
I know this is a "child gate" but it also keeps two 65+ pound dogs out of a music studio where they like to chew on cables and spend my money replacing them (the cables not the dogs). The ONLY issues is the lock on the bottom to keep the door from swinging in a particular direction when enabled. This happens to be perfect for a dog that uses paws to lock so that while it keeps them out of the studio, it occasionally fails to open as I am going through the other way. I don't think this is intentional... but I'm not entirely sure. So long as neither of us treats it like the paddock at Churchill Downs, we're fine.
