How is this better than using Dawn Soap and running the disposer?

It is better because it cleans the disposal and both drains -- when you have a double sink. IN ADDITION -- IMPORTANT -- if your dishwasher empties into your drain (which most do, and certainly in an apartment -- which incidentally has years of "build-up"), then you REALLY want this. It made SUCH a difference for us. Cuts wayyyyyy down on the *odor* that wafts up from the sink because of garbage disposal, two sinks, and dishwasher grime. I'm thrilled I discovered this on Amazon.

It's says 4 come in the pack @ $3.98. Really ? or is each pack $3.98 ?

There were 4 packages of the cleaner in each box I got (I bought 2 boxes). So, 4 disposal packs for $3.98 a box.

is this product made by Glisten? the picture of the bag is different. summit brands isn't Glisten right? this is a not a tablet like Glisten's?

I don't think so. It is not a tablet. It is powder within a pouch. You put the entire pouch into the disposal then turn it on. It will chew up the pouch and start the cleaning process. It works well. I order it all of the time.

What's the difference between these pouches and the plink tablets?
