Great For Connecting Your Bluetooth Headphones To Your Non-Bluetooth Desktop
When the pandemic first hit I bought a considerably cheaper dongle to try to connect my Bluetooth headphones to my existing desktop and the cheaper dongle did what cheaper dongles do and was a worthless piece of garbage. I did more research and bought this dongle which is considerably larger (about the size of a normal thumb drive, ~ 1.75" plugged in) it is well worth the space. All I needed it to do was let me connect my headphones to my desktop so that I could participate in my Zoom meetings, and this does that beautifully!I've successfully connected it to three different pairs of Bluetooth headphones, and connecting the Bluetooth is as easy as holding down the single button until the light flashes (~ 3 seconds) while entering pairing mode on the headphones (it seems pretty universally holding down the power button for ~ 7 seconds). The dongle has an easy to see LED that changes color to let you know the status, and a small, multi-function button that you use for both pairing and switching between call mode and music mode. Doing that is super easy, you just press the button twice to turn call mode on and once to turn it off, and the LED goes white when you're in call mode so it's really easy to make sure that you're in the correct mode. That being said, if you forget that you have it in call mode and try to listen to music it does only play half of the audio channels for the music so it sounds really weird, but as soon as you press the multi-function button it does switch back to playing all of the audio channels like normal. Call mode is absolutely fine for when you're talking to other people though, and you can't tell that there's anything going on with the audio channels if that's all you're doing. This dongle does auto-reconnect to headphones, so you only have to pair them once, which is nice. While I have the dongle positioned about 3.5' away from where I typically use my headphones, they do stay connected to the Bluetooth even when I walk upstairs, out of direct sight of the dongle! Finally, the audio quality coming from the dongle to the headphones is as high quality as the headphones allow, and the audio quality in call mode going from the microphone to the dongle is free of static or other interference as long as I have a line of sight to the dongle (it gets robot-y if I go upstairs).Overall, I'm really happy with this dongle! It does exactly what I need it to do and hasn't degraded in quality since I started using it despite using it nearly every day, sometimes for nearly the entire day!

Works Great! No transmission lag, No driver needed in Windows 10. Paired to my headphones automatically.
At least the "Long Range" one specifically for Windows 10 (the one that is big, and looks like of like a USB flash drive). Not sure about the other tiny ones, but this big, Long-Range one works great! No transmission lag; I don't notice any lag difference between my headphones plugged in vs running via this bluetooth adapter. It worked with Windows 10 perfectly; just plug & play. It paired with my VMOD bluetooth headphones automatically. The range is good indoors, but struggles through an exterior wall or metal door (perfectly understandable).I just went through 3 other adapters trying to get one working, and they all sucked; multi-second lag, horrible range, spotty connections, and driver hell. I almost didn't buy this because I figured it would just be more of the same, but I am really glad I bought this. I was worried I would never get my new bluetooth headphones working. Now, everything's smooth sailing. I'm contemplating buying a few more of these just in case they stop selling them or something. This thing is great. It also comes with a 2 foot long extension cable, so you can plug the cable into your USB port, and then plug the adapter into the cable to put it in a better position or if you're worried about crowding your USB ports. All in all, great produce. I fully recommend.-Yurelle

In a market that's bizarrely lacking in aptX Low Latency options, this transmitter does the job
So, let me preface this by saying that the score is partially due to the fact that there's simply not much competition, so the fact that this exists in the first place is a huge mark in its favor (and its rating). If there was more competition, this score might well go down a bit - this is no premium product, but if it's something you need, it gets the job done. That said, onto the device itself. I have a nice pair of Bluetooth headphones that I use with my phone while out and about, and I decided I wanted to use them on my computer as well. However, I do a fair amount of work with audio on my computer that requires A.) reasonably high quality sound and B.) little to no sound latency. The aptX LL codec meets both of those criteria, but finding a USB Bluetooth transmitter that supports aptX LL is a surprisingly difficult proposition. The Avantree Leaf here is one of the few that does, and to its credit, it does it reasonably well. This transmitter is a bit odd in that it's entirely self-contained; it manages Bluetooth connections with your devices directly and without interacting with Windows' Bluetooth settings, so you won't even see it listed as a Bluetooth device. Instead, it'll just be listed as a sound device. There are some drawbacks to this - because it operates as its own thing, you can't manage Bluetooth or sound settings for it like you would a device that uses the Windows Bluetooth audio interface - but overall it's a positive, as it sidesteps the many complications that can come with trying to use Bluetooth audio on Windows or other operating systems. It's also not the most intuitive device to use when you want to switch paired devices or profiles, as there's no UI or anything like that for the device, meaning you just have to figure out which button presses on the transmitter do what. Documentation is sparse and clearly not from an English-speaking manufacturer, but functional enough with some trial and error.Performance-wise, it's pretty good. Its range is fairly solid - I live in a one bedroom apartment, and I can use it without interruption anywhere in my apartment, even with walls between me and the transmitter. It's fairly reliable, too, though it does very occasionally randomly lose connection with my headphones for no apparent reason, even if I'm sitting right next to the transmitter, prompting me to re-pair them. I haven't had a Bluetooth device that was 100% reliable all the time, though, so I don't really hold it against the Leaf.Design-wise, it's about the size of a thumb drive, and it comes with a kinda tacky, cheap-looking green cover that mainly just gets in the way (thankfully, it's very easy to remove). The indicator light on the side of the transmitter is straightforward, clear, and easy to see. Once you remove the bright green cover, it's an inoffensive off-white color that won't clash with your other hardware. So, in summary: it does the job fine, and while it's not extraordinary as a product, it is one of the very few transmitters out there that does what it does. As such, until there are other comparably priced and functional transmitters out there to choose from, this one gets my endorsement.
