A must for MH fans
Out of curiosity, I bought this to see if all the hype was real. It really spoiled me to be honest. I didn't think I would develop a distaste for using joycon for MH, but here we are. It's not perfect by any means. Overall build quality is excellent, but I found the back paddle configurable buttons to be kind of pointless as you can only map one button to it. I ended up not using the left back button at all. But, the form factor is great and comfortable, the artwork is brilliant, and all of the buttons feel just as premium as a first party peripheral. We'll done Hori!!

Perfect
Love the art on this controller and fits on my hands perfectly. The standard joy con are made for the kids of a kid and make your hands cramp after 30mins of play. But with this controller I don't cramp up and it's easier to play with.

Very happy with this!
Very comfortable to hold. The joysticks, triggers and buttons are solid. This is by-far my favorite controller. Love the Magnamalo design, I had to get this one for sure to go along with MH Rise. Happy hunting! :)

Makes Portable Mode Actually Playable
Pros:Cool theming on special editions (MHRise one is particularly good)Comfortable and big enough for most people's handsAssignable buttons on the handles of the controller similar to the Xbox EliteTurbo functionality if you care about thatGenerally good feeling buttons and sticksCons:Most of the "non-gameplay" buttons (+, -, Home, and Share) are silicon instead of plastic and feel very mushyThe Dpad is definitely serviceable but isn't as nice as other Hori Dpads I've used in the pastProgrammable buttons can only be mapped on one side, meaning the left controller can only map L and not R, etc., which limits shortcuts more than you would thinkWill not fit in a standard Switch carrying case (there are specific cases made with this controller in mind so definitely one of the less significant cons)No wireless (personally doesn't matter to me but could be a deal breaker for some)

Great product combined with a case for great travel option
I love my pro controller, but if you are like me playing monster hunter, you end up hunched over the switch screen when playing undocked. I decided on the split controller for travel and am very happy with it. Like other reviewers, slightly sad it doesn't have rumble and that it does sap you switch battery faster to use. However, for travel for a week or something and do not pack the doc, this is a prime choice. If you need a case, the butterfox extra large switch case is meant for a switch (joy cons attached) + pro controller + charger. It fits this splitpad fine as a substitute of a pro controller too.

Decent joycon
The controller doesn’t wake switch when pressing home button and I really hate the rubber buttons of home/+/-/screenshot. The dealbreaker is lots of miss input when playing monster hunter rise. I don’t know why but I was surprised by the number of miss inputs mid combo. I had no problem with switch lite and switch pro controller

Amazing product
Really good looking controllers and super light, I guess the rumble and the amiibo things are heavy on the original controllers
