The number or count indicates how many squares are available per-inch of fabric. Each square represents a cross stitch. The smaller the fabric count the larger the holes. This fabric has 18 stitches per-inch. DMC Aida fabrics have a wonderful finish and are available in a variety of types. It is packed in soft tubes, a plastic sheath that fits more eaches per peg hook than the traditional hard tube. It can be washed in 60-degree celsius, 140-degree fahrenheit water. Dry flat. I really like this cross stitch fabric. Unlike so many others, this one is rolled up, not folded. I hate trying to get out the creases before I can even start a project, so this is perfect!
