Energizer Heavy Duty Jumper Cables for Car Battery, Automotive Booster Cables for Jump Starting Dead or Weak Batteries with Carrying Bag Included (16-Feet (2-Gauge))

Been researching for a while trying to decide on some heavy duty jumper cables to replace my old 10 gauge set that were probably 20 years old. I bought the old set not knowing anything about different gauges. Although they served their purpose I wanted to get something more heavy duty and more fitted for my Ram 1500 truck. I decided to go with these from the many positive reviews. These are 2 gauge, 800 amp and are 16 feet long which I believe is plenty long enough. Some sets are 25 and 30 feet long but that just seems like overkill and will need a very large bag to carry them in to me. They come with a decent carrying bag but I went ahead and found a larger sturdier bag here on Amazon to store them in. Not that anything was wrong with the one that came with it but as you know they make them to fit exactly and my feelings were it was going to be a pain to fold them perfect every time to get them to zip back up into the original bag. So now i have room to spare and can even put some gloves and maybe a few tools in the purchased bag. I haven't used these yet but they seem to be of a very high quality and very nicely built and hopefully will last me another 20 years or more. The cables are very thick and heavy like you would expect 2 gauge to be and the clamps are very nicely built and have a nice tension when you squeeze them. If for some reason they don't perform up to expectations I will be back to edit my review. They come with a 2 year warranty which is better than most I saw and if you register them on Energizer's website they will give you and extra 6 months even though I don't think I will need it, still nice to have in case something comes up in that time frame.

These are the best jumper cables I've come across that are very affordable. It is made in China. The cables are very flexible and surprisingly light in weight. The main reason is this is aluminum wire that is copper coated. Pure copper is better but it is much heavier and way more expensive. This aluminum will do just fine and why travel with extra weight? Another reason for it's flexibility is 7 cores of 60 strands of wire are in there and with no corrosion as you can see in the photos. These are labeled as 2 gauge wire and I would say they are. The package states these cables are rated at 800 amps. I would not want to test that. These are more than capable to jump most vehicles and should handle high amps for very short periods of time. Sure beats my old jumper cables that turned out to be 12 gauge wires! These measure at least 16 feet. In the photo it shows just under but I could not get the wire to fully straighten out. The large alligator clips are easy to open but have enough tension in them and should fit any car battery. The crimp that the wire attaches to is good enough and looks better attached than other cables I've seen especially my old one that this new cable replaces. I should have bought this one a long time ago. If I need another jumper cable I will be getting this Energizer cable.

My old jumper cables look like cheap toys compared to these. LARGE clamps that should work with everything, solid connections to the wire, and more pliable wire casing for the hard winters then the cables freeze and are harder to use.

Super high quality. Gonna buy another set.
