The SBC Alternator Bracket for a Long Water Pump is a fantastic addition to any engine bay. From the moment I installed it, I couldn't help but admire how amazing it looks under the hood. But looks aren't the only thing it has going for it. Installation was a breeze, and I was pleasantly surprised by the sturdiness of this bracket compared to the stock part it replaced. It felt more robust and ready to handle the rigors of daily driving without breaking a sweat. The only minor hiccup I encountered was with the turnbuckle-style adjuster. It seemed a bit stiff initially, and I had some difficulty getting the ends to screw in far enough to mount the belt. However, once the belt was on, adjusting the tension and alignment became a breeze. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with this bracket. It's a worthwhile upgrade that I would buy again without hesitation. Looks really great, very sturdy, way easier and better for belt tensioning. My engine is a 1996 5.7 that came with a serpentine belt system, now it has an old school V-belt pulley set up. So I did have to remove 3/16s of an inch from the sleeve. There's a fair amount of variance with water pumps and the fronts of cylinder heads so I'm not surprised it needed some trimming. The Alternator pulley lines up perfectly. Overall I'm quite pleased with this bracket set and would not hesitate to buy another.
