What a story. Robin tells her story about how she got started, so touching. Very motivating book. Highly recommend.

A great handbook on getting started with running with the right attitude
I love Robin's mission of "redefining what it means to be an athlete and creating unapologetic greatness in every athlete along the way".We can all be athletes.I agree with other reviews that this book is fun and great inspiration, tools and tips for people to find and spark running. Although the key message in the book applies to other sports as well - Don't think too much, just shut up and do. The book does not go too deep into fancy sports and other science stuff. That's good since too much thinking and rationalizing too much often just holds us back.Shut Up and Run is a great handbook on getting started with running with the right attitude. First and foremost it is inspirational and motivational, with lot of practical tips. Nevertheless, even most pro-athletes have so much to learn from this book. Most importantly that running and training itself is the reason for being, not goals, events, or achievements. Read this book and be a winner every single day for the rest of your life.My favorite and potentially game-changing tips from the book are:Joining a running club (your local + during travels)Find your running heroesVisualization tip: Write down in detail a time you felt invinciblePlus many practical tips to overcome the daily excuses of not running (like no place to shower at the office...)4 stars for the book + 1 supporting Robin's mission.p.s. I personally love running. I run a lot, and run marathons, and just did an Ironman. Still there was much for me to take and learn from this book.

Fun and inspirational read
Robyn is my favorite peloton instructor and I had no idea hoe fascinating her life was until reading this book. Its her personal journey, filled with tips and tricks to fuel your running journey. Doesn't matter if your prepping for your first mile.or.your first marathon, this is a good read. The book reads more like a conversation with a friend as opposed to a self help or hoe to guide, and I really enjoyed that style. This is one I will refer back to when I need a little motivation.

This book brought my love of running back to life!
Talk about motivation. I used to be an avid runner in college and my early 20's. Once I hit my mid-twenties I became burned out on running and started only weight lifting. About a year ago, I felt like something was missing in my routine. I felt sluggish most days, bored at the gym, and missed the feeling of pushing myself to my limits. I realized I missed running. I signed up for a couple races and ordered this book to motivate myself to lace up my running shoes. Let me tell you, this book is what I needed to light a fire under my rear. From the first page, I felt myself sit up straighter and wanted to head outside for a run right then. Even though I was familiar with a lot of the information in this book (getting the right running shoes, don't increase mileage by more than 10% each week, etc.) I still was never bored reading this. There was still so much new information and motivational exercises throughout. Some pages were just motivational quotes in big block letters, some pages had you write down your goals, your vision, etc. This book has brought my love of running back to life. I keep it by my bed and flip to random pages/quotes every now and then to realize how much I love the sport of running. So shut up, and order this book.

Perfect running book
I am picky on my inspirational books. I'm not a fan of long stories that attempt to make one feel connected to everyone. I'm also not a fan of long winded chapters that take forever to get to the point. That being said, that is why I think this is a perfect running book. Its informative and has stories but not long winded or fake sounding. Its that great balance of teaching you from years of experience with humility. Exactly the way a good friend would talk to you about something they are passionate about and you show interest in. This book taught me a lot , inspired me and now I admire Robin even more. Loved it.

love Robin….
But this book was all over the place. We jumped quickly from topic to topic. She could have written at least 2 books with this about 1) motivation 2)training instruction. Easy read & motivational.

Robin Arzon is an inspiration
I am running my second half marathon this fall. My first was over 9 years ago. I have been training regularly on the peloton app. Robin's classes are sublime and her words of inspiration are raw and real and what I channel when I need to get unstuck. I am thrilled I found this book as it will give me extra insight on how the train for this next race.
