Just installed the battery without issue. Some reviews mentioned the connector was different and would not fit the game boy micro. The connector was slightly different, but it fit just fine. The handheld turns on, and battery life seems pretty good so far.

I was a bit nervous about people mentioning having to cut and do a ton to get this to work. But I literally just did a bit of rotating and used some plastic tweezers to make sure the contact when I’m in correctly. It provides a huge battery boost to the micro and I can go a ton of hours without charging it.

Doesn’t fit! The first picture is the battery they sell you, and the second one is the original. Because of that slight difference, it won’t fit. Waste of time and money! Even more, because you have to print the label to send it back….. They’re lying because it doesn’t fit the Game Boy Micro. (YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY FROM YOUR OWN POCKET $1.95 TO RETURN IT, AND YOU HAVE TO RETURN IT TO FEDEX OR UPS). Worst experience from Amazon.

So as everyone already said the connector doesn't fit perfectly. Thankfully one of the comments pointed out if you just shave off the sides it fits in perfectly. Took me like 4 minutes to do and it works perfectly.

I was a tad worried about the few bad reviews, as we all know it’s hard to find a battery for these things. I filed down one of the sides a tad, used a plastic push tool, made sure the red wire is on the bottom and it went right in! Seems to be charging fine.

I noticed right away that the guide rails on the plastic connector were centered and not on the bottom, like other reviewers had expressed concern about. However, if you have a good hobby knife and the patience to do so, the plastic connector on the old battery can be reused with the replacement battery. After I modified the replacement to use the original's plastic connector, I installed the replacement, and charging seemed to take the usual 3 hours, definitely a far cry from the original battery's 10-minute charging and 2-minute discharging time. Before long, my Game Boy Micro was playing GBA games like it's 2005 all over again.

It fits comfortably in the handheld, though the connector is a bit stiff. Overall build quality feels shoddier than OEM battery. Product claims to have higher mAh capacity than OEM, but I have used the battery for a few weeks and found it only lasts a couple hours before the red low-battery indicators come back on. The OEM battery lasts for 5-6 hours, for comparison. I switched back to it and will keep this battery as a spare, but I would not recommend this one in particular if you are trying to replace OEM battery with one of equal quality.
